You can change the angle of view when playing a DVD that contains scenes
recorded from multiple angles.
See page 79 for information about how to make this setting using the DVD player’s 
GUI
.
To change the view angle
1
While the disc is playing, press ANGLE.
• This displays the currently selected view angle number.
Example: When there are five view angles

While the view angle numbers are on the
screen, use ANGLE to select the one you
want.
• The number of the view angle you
select is shown on the screen.
• The angle number does not appear if the disc you are using has only one angle
of view.
• The actual procedure for changing the view angle depends on the disc you are
using. See the disc jacket for details.
• The view angle number remains on the display for about 10 seconds.

You can use the following procedure to select the set of subtitles you want to
use when the DVD you are playing includes subtitle sets for multiple
languages.
To change the subtitle set
1
While the disc is playing, press SUBTITLE.
• This displays the currently selected subtitle set number.
Example: When there are three subtitle
sets
• If the disc does not have any subtitle
data,

 appears in place of the subtitle
set number.

Select the number of the subtitle set you want.
• The number of the subtitle set you select is shown on the screen.
• The subtitle set number does not appear if the disc you are using has only one
set of subtitle.
• While the subtitle set numbers are on the display, use ' and " to select the one
you want.
To turn subtitling on and off

While the disc is playing, press SUBTITLE
ON/OFF
 to toggle subtitling on and off.

• Your DVD player has built-in virtual surround circuitry that provides rich
audio output when playing through a stereo (2-channel) television or through
audio equipment.
• Dolby Virtual lets you play audio from DVDs recorded using Dolby Digital
(5.1 channel) and Dolby Surround (Pro Logic).
• See the disc jacket for information about how its audio was recorded.
Dolby Virtual
The following table shows the types of audio recordings for which Dolby Virtual
is enabled.
• Dolby Virtual is disabled when the DVD player is connected to external
equipment over an optical digital connection.
See page 79 for information about how to make this setting using the DVD player’s 
GUI

To turn Dolby Virtual on and off
1
While the DVD is playing, press VIRTUAL.
• Each press of 
VIRTUAL
 toggles Dolby
Virtual on and off.
• Dolby Virtual cannot be used with a video CD or audio CD.
• Dolby Virtual is disabled during playback of a DVD recorded with DTS audio,
linear PCM audio and Audio MPEG Version 2.0.
• The QSound 
 mark used by Dolby Virtual is a trademark of QSound Labs, Inc.

Some DVDs have a title menu that you use to select the title you want to play.
To select a title from the title menu of a DVD
This function can be used only with a disk that has been played once,
even partially.

While the disc is playing or stopped, press TITLE to display its title menu.

• Some DVDs use the term “top menu” instead of “title menu”.
• Nothing appears on the screen when you press 
TITLE
 if the disc you are using
does not have a title menu.
• The procedure shown here provides only general steps. The actual procedure for
using the title menu depends on the disc you are using. See the disc jacket for
details.
• The title menu does not appear immediately after you load a disc into the DVD
player or when the DVD player is in the Standby mode. It appears only after the
disc has been played, even if only partially.
Helpful Hints
• You can also specify a title by inputting a title number with the number buttons.
