Some DVDs include a disc menu that you can use to select subtitle set, audio
channel, and Dolby Digital (5.1 channel) or DTS audio. You can also turn disc
menu on and off.
To use the disc menu to turn on subtitling
This function can be used only with a disk that has been played once,
even partially.

While the disc is playing or stopped, press MENU to display the disc menu.

Use

 to select the subtitle item on the disc menu.

Press ENTER to display the subtitle set number selection screen.

Use

 and

 to select the subtitle set you want to use.

Press ENTER to register your selection and display the subtitles.
Repeat the above procedure to make other disc menu settings.
• The procedure shown here provides only general steps. The actual procedure for
using the disc menu depends on the disc you are using. See the disc jacket for
details.
• The disc menu does not appear immediately after you load a disc into the DVD
player or when the DVD player is in the Standby mode. It appears only after the
disc has been played, even if only partially.

Certain DVD settings must be made using the DVD player’s control panel, and
cannot be made using the remote control unit. Other settings can be made
using either the remote control unit or the control panel.
To make settings from the DVD player control panel

While the disc is playing, press GUI.
• Each press of 
GUI
 cycles through the setting screens in the sequence
shown below.
• The setting screen disappears from the display if you do not perform any
operation for about 10 seconds.
• You can manually clear the setting screen by pressing 
MENU

Use the procedures described here to adjust the brightness and contrast of the
colours that appear on the display, and the overall brightness of the display.
To adjust display colours

Press VIDEO ADJUST.
