To install the main unit on the wall
Preparation:
Remove the stand from the main unit (perform steps 1 - 2 on page
17).
CAUTION:
"
Be very careful to prevent the main unit (2.2 kg) from falling when
mounting on the wall.
"
Before mounting, check the wall strength. (Do not put to the
veneer plaster or whitewashed wall. The main unit may fall.) If it
is not clear, consult with a qualified service technician.
"
Mounting screws are not supplied. Use appropriate ones.
"
Check all mounting screws for looseness and that they are
engaged in the main unit.
"
Mount the main unit on the wall with 2 screws.
"
Select a good location. If not, accidents may occur or the main
unit may get damaged.
"
Avoid placing on a bed, sofa, water tank, sink and hallway wall.
"
SHARP is not responsible for accidents resulting from improper
installation.
Sharp has designed the
main unit so you can hang
it on the wall.
Use appropriate screws
(not supplied). See the il-
lustration on the right for
size and type.
1
Make a hole in the wall using
a drill.
2
Drive a wall mount plug into
the hole using a hammer,
until it is flush with the wall
surface.
3
Drive two screws into the wall for main unit, as shown in
the illustration.
Make sure that both the screw and the wall can support a load
of 2.2 kg.
Drive the screws, so the screw head extends about 5.5 mm out
from the wall.

Condensation
Sudden temperature changes, storage or operation in an extremely
humid environment may cause condensation inside the cabinet
(laser pickup, etc.) or on the transmitter on the remote control.
Condensation can cause the system to malfunction. If this happens,
leave the power on with no disc in the system until normal playback
is possible (about 1 hour). Wipe off any condensation on the trans-
mitter with a soft cloth before operating the system.

!
If trouble occurs
When this product is subjected to strong external interference
(mechanical shock, excessive static electricity, abnormal supply
voltage due to lightning, etc.) or if it is operated incorrectly, it may
malfunction.
If such a problem occurs, do the following:
1
Set the system to the stand-by mode and turn the power on
again.
2
If the system is not restored in the previous operation, unplug and
plug in the subwoofer/amplifier unit, and then turn the power on.
Note:
If neither operation above restores the system, clear all the memory
by resetting it.

!
Clearing all the memory (reset)
1
Press the ON/STAND-BY button to enter the power stand-by
mode.
2
Whilst pressing down the   button and the FUNCTION button,
press the ON/STAND-BY button until "SYS RESTORE"
appears.
Caution:
When you reset, all data is deleted and the settings return to the
default. (DVD initial settings are retained.)
Symptom
Possible cause
The radio makes
unusual noises
continuously.
"
Is the system placed near the TV or comput-
er?
"
Is the FM aerial or AM loop aerial placed
properly? Move the aerial away from the AC
power lead if it's located nearby.
The preset chan-
nel cannot be re-
called.
"
Did you remove the plug from the wall sock-
et, or did a power failure occur?
Preset the channel again.
Symptom
Possible cause
The remote con-
trol does not op-
erate.
"
Is the battery polarity correct?
"

main unit?

strong light (inverter fluorescent light, direct
