9.1 Flexing Test (except for tinsel cords, twisted

The test shall be carried out by mieans of the 
apparatus shown in Figure 5. This apparatus has 
a carrier C supporting two pulleys A and B 
arranged so that the cord is horizontal between 
the pulleys. The carrier moves backward and 
forward over a distance of 1 m at an 
approximately constant speed of 0.33 m/s. 
A sample of flexible cord fabout 5 m long shall be 
stretched over the pulleys as shown in the figure, 
each end being loaded with a weight. The weight 
and the diameter of the pulleys A and B shall be 
as given in Table 1. 
Screene cords in accordance with Table 7 shall 
be tested before application of the screen and 
outer sheath. 
The pulleys shall have a semi-circular shaped 
groove for circular cords and a flat groove for 
parallel twin cords. The 
restraining clamps D shall be fixed so that the pull 
is always applied by the weight from which the 
carrier is mowing away. The carrier shall make 30
