14. Rotate the two roller bearings in the direction indicated
by the arrow A, then remove them.
15. Move the E capstan roller in the direction indicated by
the arrow B, then remove it in the direction indicated
by the arrow C.
16. Attach the E capstan roller in the reverse order of steps
1 to 15.

Remove the upper cabinet assembly. (Refer to Section

connector (CN1) on the LCD module.
10. Attach the LCD module in the reverse order of steps 1
to 9.

3-1. Activation
1.
Turn on the power while pressing the ALL/DPOF key.

Keep pressing the ALL/DPOF key until the service mode menu (hereafter referred to as the menu)

After the LCD is activated and the menu is displayed, release the ALL/DPOF key.

3-2. Touch Panel Position Adjustment
1.
Tap the <PANEL CALBRATE> icon on the menu.
2.
Tap the center of a blue circle that appears on the LCD.
3.
Repeat step 2 three times.
4.
When you hear a beep sound, the adjustment is completed.

3-3. LCD Contrast Check and Adjustment
1.
Tap the <LCD CONTRAST> icon on the menu.
2.
Check if all steps (5-step contrast) displayed at the center of the screen can be identified.
3.
If the identification is difficult, adjust the contrast by tapping the
+ key or _ key in the upper area of
the screen.
When the white area cannot be identified:
Tap the
_ key.
When the black area cannot be identified:
Tap the
+ key.
4.
After checking that all five steps can be identified, tap a
\ (a square of the yellow) in the center of
the blue color’s adjustment bar.

3-4. Density Adjustment for During Thermal Head Replacement

. Before replacing the thermal head, be sure to print a test pattern of gray (86 gray) using either normal

Procedures
1.
Set the ribbon and paper (half size photo paper SVM-30SS).
2.
Enter to the service mode, tap the <MECHANIC TEST> icon on the menu.
3.
Tap the <PRINT GRAY> icon on the menu. Then the <PRINT GRAY> icon becomes to yellow and
the printing automatically starts.
4.
After the printing is completed, press the PRINT key. When the screen goes back to the menu screen
of the service mode, turn off the power.
5.
Before replacing the thermal head, record the resistance of the thermal head.
6.
Replace the thermal head. (Refer to Section 2-7 for the replacement of thermal head.)
7.
Set the ribbon and paper (half size photo paper SVM-30SS).
8.
Enter to the service mode, tap the <PRINT DENSITY> icon on the menu of the service mode.
9.
Tap the icon of the adjustment value (R1 to R8) corresponding to the resistance of the new thermal
head according to the table below.
