Precautions on Adjusting
Note1: Before performing the adjustments, check the data of page: 0,
address: 10 is “00”. If not, set data: 00 to this address.

The adjustments of this unit are performed in the VTR mode
(PLAY/EDIT mode) or camera mode (CAMERA mode).
To set to the VTR mode, set the mode switch to “PLAY/EDIT”
or set the “Forced VTR Power ON mode” using the adjusting
remote commander (Note2).
To set to the camera mode, set the mode switch to “CAMERA”
or set the “Forced Camera Power ON mode” using the adjusting
remote commander (Note3).
After completing adjustments, be sure to exit the “Forced VTR
Power ON Mode” or “Forced Camera Power ON Mode”.

The front cabinet block (FP-840 flexible) need not be connected.
To remove it, disconnect the following connectors.
FP-840 flexible CN101 (2P, 0.8mm)
VC-350 board CN1004 (16P, 0.5mm)

The cabinet (R) block need not be connected except for the
DC IN jack of the FP-841 flexible. (Except for “VIDEO
SYSTEM ADJUST MENT”.) To remove the cabinet (R) block,
disconnect the following connectors.
VC-350 board CN2001 (26P, 0.5mm)
VC-350 board CN1010 (51P, 0.3mm)
VC-350 board CN1011 (6P, 0.5mm)
VC-350 board CN1006 (22P, 0.5mm)
Remove the FP-841 flexible (DC IN jack, Battery terminal)
from the cabinet (R) block. And connect it to the following
connector of VC-350 board.
VC-350 board CN2001 (26P, 0.5mm)

The top cabinet block (Microphone unit) need not be connected.
To remove it, disconnect the following connectors.
SE-140 board CN401 (6P, 0.5mm)

The lens block (CD-493 board) need not be connected. To
remove it, disconnect the following connectors.
VC-350 board CN3001 (14P, 0.5mm)
VC-350 board CN3101 (23P, 0.3mm)

By setting the “Forced VTR Power ON mode”, the VTR section
can be operate even if the control switch block (SS6800) has
been removed. When removing it, disconnect the following
connector.
VC-350 board CN1001 (18P, 0.5mm)

The EVF block (LB-096 board, SE-140 board) need not be
connected. To remove them, disconnect the following
connectors.
VC-350 board CN9301 (20P, 0.5mm)
VC-350 board CN1008 (39P, 0.3mm)

Disconnecting the VC-350 board CN1005 (removing the MS-
201 board and control switch block (ZM-6800)) means
removing the lithium 3V power supply (MS-201 board, BT501),
data such as date, time, user-set menus will be lost. After
completing adjustments, reset these data.
But, the self-diagnosis data and the data on history of use (total
drum rotation time etc.) will be kept even if the MS-201 board
has been removed. (Refer to “6-4.Service Mode” for the data
on the history use and the self-diagnosis data.)
To remove the MS-201 board and control switch block
(ZM6800), disconnect the following connectors.
VC-350 board CN1005 (20P 0.5mm)
Note2: Setting the “Forced VTR Power ON” mode (PLAY/EDIT mode)
1) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
2) Select page: D, address: 10, set data: 02, and press the PAUSE
button of the adjusting remote commander.
The above procedure will enable the VTR power to be turned on
with the control switch block (SS-6800 block) removed.
After completing adjustments, be sure to exit the “Forced Power
ON mode”.
Note3: Setting the “Forced Camera Power ON” mode (CAMERA-TAPE
mode)
1) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
2) Select page: D, address: 10, set data: 01, and press the PAUSE
button of the adjusting remote commander.
The above procedure will enable the camera power to be turned
on with the control switch block (SS-6800 block) removed.
After completing adjustments, be sure to exit the “Forced Power
ON mode”.
Note4: Exiting the “Forced Power ON” mode
1) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
2) Select page: D, address: 10, set data: 00, and press the PAUSE
button of the adjusting remote commander.
3) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 0

Adjusting Connectors
The measuring point of the playback RF signal is CN1007 of VC-
350 board. Connect the measuring instruments via the CPC
connecting jigs (J-6082-521-A, J-6082-564-A). Refer to
“MECHANISM SECTION ADJUSTMENT” for the measuring
method. The following table lists the pin numbers and signal names
of CN1007.

Connecting the Equipment
Connect the measuring instruments as shown in Fig. 6-3-2, and
perform the adjustments.

Use the alignment tapes shown in the following table.
Use tapes specified in the signal column of each adjustment.
Fig. 6-3-3 shows the 75% color bar signals recorded on the alignment
tape for Audio Operation Check.

SYSTEM CONTROL SYSTEM ADJUSTMENT
1. Initialization of 8, A, C, D, E, F, 1C, 1F Page Data
If the 8, A, C, D, E, F, 1C, 1F page data is erased due to some
reason, perform “1-2. INITIALIZATION OF 8, A, C, D, E, F, 1C,
1F PAGE DATA” of “6-1. CAMERA SECTION ADJUSTMENT”
Note: When reading or writing the 1C, 1F page data, select page: 0,
address: 10, and set data: 01, then select C or F page. The 1C or 1F
page can be chosen by this data setting.
After reading or writing, reset the data of page: 0, address: 10 to
“00”.
2. Touch Panel Adjustment
Adjust the calibration of the touch panel.
