6-2. MECHANISM SECTION
ADJUSTMENT
On the mechanism section adjustment
For detail of mechanism section adjustments, checks, and
replacement of mechanism parts, refer to the separate volume
“MICRO MV MECHANICAL ADJUSTMENT MANUAL 1
 V Mechanism  ”.
Note:
Before performing the adjustments, check the data of page: 0,
address: 10 is “00”. If not, set data: 00 to this address.

Adjustment Remote Commander
Connect the adjustment remote commander to LANC jack.

OPERATING WITHOUT CASSETTE
1)
Connect the adjustment remote commander.
2)
Turn on the HOLD switch of the adjustment remote
commander.
3)
Close the cassette compartment without loading a cassette and
complete loading.
4)
Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
5)
Select page: 9, address: 74, set data: 01, and press the PAUSE
button.
6)
Select page: 9, address: 81, set data: 01, and press the PAUSE
button.
7)
Select page: 9, address: C4, set data: 02, and press the PAUSE
button.
8)
Disconnect the power supply of the unit.
By carrying out the above procedure, the unit can be operated
without loading a cassette. Never do opening or closing of the
cassette compartment under this condition.
Be sure to carry out “Procedure checking operations” after
checking the operations.
Set the following data to page: D, address: 10, if the forced
power supply ON mode is to be used together.
   Forced VTR power supply ON mode .............................. 02
   Forced CAMERA power supply ON mode ..................... 01
 [Procedure after checking operations]
1)
Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
2)
Select page: 9, address: 74, set data: 00, and press the PAUSE
button.
3)
Select page: 9, address: 81, set data: 00, and press the PAUSE
button.
4)
Select page: 9, address: C4, set data: 00, and press the PAUSE
button.
5)
Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 00.
6)
Disconnect the power supply of the unit.

TAPE PATH ADJUSTMENT
The lens block (CD-406 board) must be connected when performing
the adjustment.
1. Preparation for Adjustment
1)
Clean the tape running side (tape guide, capstan shaft, pinch
roller, etc.).
2)
Connect an oscilloscope to CN452 of VC-308 board.
Channel 1: CN452 Pin 3 (or CL457) (Note)
External trigger: CN452 Pin 7 (or CL458)
Note:
Connect a 75
 resistor (1-247-804-11) between Pins 3 of
CN452 and GND.
3)
Playback the alignment tape for tracking. (XH8-1)
4)
Connect the adjustment remote commander and turn the HOLD
switch to the ON position.
5)
Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
6)
Select page: 9, address: BC, set data: 0D, and press the PAUSE
button.
7)
Select page: 9, address: B1, set data: 62, and press the PAUSE
button.
8)
Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 00.
9)
Select page: 3, address: 0A, set data: 40, and press the PAUSE
button.
10) Check that the data of page: 3, address: 0B changes from “40”
to “00”.
11) Rotate the HOLD OFF knob of the oscilloscope so that the
flattest waveform is displayed.
12) Check that the oscilloscope RF waveform is normal at the
entrance and exit.
If not normal, adjust according to the separate volume
“MICRO MV MECHANICAL ADJUSTMENT MANUAL 1
  V Mechanism  ”.
