3. RF BLOCK
The RF block processes RF signals output from an optical pickup block (hereinafter referred to as
OP), and generates PCLK (channel clock) by PLL and RF binary-valued signals.
The RF block consists mainly of two circuit blocks CD and DVD, each comprising the following
functional blocks:
(1) Main functions of DVD RF block
––> AGC, EQ (adaptive EQ), differential AMP, A/D converter for RF, digital AAC, digital
PLL, RUNDET, jitter detection
These functions mainly comprise TT-701 board IC001 SSI33P3720, MB-75 board IC770
CXD8599Q, and their peripheral circuit blocks.
(2) Main functions of CD RF block
––> RFIV AMP, RF summing AMP, digital PLL, asymmetry correction circuit (binary-
valued)
These functions mainly comprise TT-701 board IC002 CXA1791, MB-75 board IC717
CXD2545, and their peripheral circuit blocks.
