PANEL  TEST  MODE
It can check the fl uorescent indicator tube, LEDs, model name, 
destination, software version and button.
Procedure:
1.  Press the [
?/1
] button to turn the power on.
2.  Press two buttons of the [
x
] and [S3 – TUNING .] simul-
taneously for three seconds.
3.  It enters the panel test mode, and all segments on the fl uores-
cent indicator tube and all LEDs light up.

8.  When pressing the [S1 –  ] button, “K 0 V0E0” is displayed 
on the fl uorescent indicator tube.

9.  Each time a button is pressed, “K 0” value increases. However, 
once a button is pressed, it is no longer taken into account.
 
When pressing the all buttons, “K24” and “OK”  are displayed 
alternately

10.  “V0” value increases “V1”, “V2”, “V3” · · · “V8”, “V9”, “V0” 
if turn the [VOLUME/DJ CONTROL] knob clockwise, or it 
decreases “V9”, “V8”, “V7” · · · “V2”, “V1”, “V0” if turn the 
knob counterclockwise.
11.  “E0” value increases “E1”, “E2”, “E3” · · · “E8”, “E9”, “E0” if 
turn the [MULTI CONTROL] knob clockwise, or it decreases 
“E9”, “E8”, “E7” · · · “E2”, “E1”, “E0” if turn the knob coun-
terclockwise.

ously for three seconds.
HISTORY  MODE
It can check the important data stored in the system when protect 
happen.
Procedure:
1.  Press the [
?/1
] button to turn the power off.
2.  Press two buttons of the [
x
] and [S2   +] simultaneously for 
fi ve seconds.
3.  It enters the history mode, the message “HISTORY” is dis-
played on the fl uorescent indicator tube.

4.  Each time [S4 TUNING + >]/[S3 – TUNING .] buttons 
are pressed, it can change the display item.

Protect type description:
Error code
Description
01
The over current condition to MOSFET occurs 
by defect of MOSFET or defect of power supply 
output line.
Unusual heat up of MOSFET by improper as-
sembly of heat sink, destruction of MOSFET 
etc.

Defect of thermistor IC or charging circuit used
by SPM (Sound Pressure Management) sys-
tem.
03
Defect of power supply circuit to amplifi er. 
There is possibility of unusual power supply of 
any of the amplifi er IC or pre-amplifi er.
04
DC appears in speaker terminal by defect of 
amplifi er IC and MOSFET.
06
Defect of fan motor and fan motor driver circuit.
If speaker does not have output even if the set status is not in pro-
tect mode, the following cause might be possible.
Reset defect: Reset signal status from 
-com is not ‘H’.
DVD  COLOR  SYSTEM
(E4, EA, SP6, AUS models)
It can change DVD color system into PAL or NTSC.
Procedure:
1.  Press the [
?
/

] button to turn the power on.
2.  Press the [FUNCTION] button to turn the “DVD/CD” func-
tion.
3.  Press two buttons of the [ENTER] and [MIC ECHO] simulta-
neously for three seconds.
4.  The message “COLOR PAL” or “COLOR NTSC” is displayed 
on the fl uorescent indicator tube, and DVD color system 
changed.

5.  When the “NTSC” mark is lights up, DVD color system is 
NTSC. 
 
When the “NTSC” mark is lights off, DVD color system is 
PAL.

•  This mode let you make diagnosis and adjustment easily by 
using the remote commander and the TV. The instructions, di-
agnostic results, etc. are given on the on-screen display.

Procedure to enter to DVD Service Mode:
1.  Press the [
?/1
] button to turn the power on.
2.  Press the [FUNCTION] button to turn the DVD/CD function.
3.  Press two buttons of the [SOUND FIELD] and [VOCAL FAD-
ER] simultaneously for three seconds.
4.  The message “SERVICE IN” appears on the fl uorescent  in-
dicator tube and the Top Menu of Remocon Diagnosis Menu 
appears on the on-screen display on the TV. The model name,  
destination, main unit’s micom version information (IF-con) 
and DVD fi rmware version information (Syscon) are dis-
played at the bottom of the on-screen display.

Execute IOP Measurement
 
In order to execute IOP measurement, the following standard 
procedures must be followed.
1.  From the Top Menu of Remocon Diagnosis Menu, select “2. 
Drive Manual Operation” by pressing the [2] button on the 
remote commander. The following screen appears on the on-
screen display.

5.  Convert data from hexadecimal to decimal by using conver-
sion table.

fi nd the label on the rear of the BU (Base Unit).
 
The default IOP value is written in the label.
7.  Subtract between these two values.
8.  If the remainder is smaller than 93 (decimal), then it is OK.
 
However if the value is higher than 93, then the BU is defec-
tive and need to be change.
9.  Press the [RETURN] button on the remote commander to re-
turn to previous menu.
10. Press the [0] button on the remote commander to return to the 
Top Menu of Remocon Diagnosis Menu.
11.  Press the [
?/1
] button to turn the power off.

Check Emergency History
 
To check the emergency history, please follow the following 
procedure.
1.  From the Top Menu of Remocon Diagnosis Menu, select “3. 
Emergency History” by pressing the [3] button on the remote 
commander. The following screen appears on the on-screen 
display.

mum time, which can be displayed are 999h 59min.

To clear the Laser Hours

To clear the Emergency History
Press the [DVD TOP MENU] button on the remote commander 
and then press the [CLEAR] button on the remote commander.
