MDS-SE9 does not operate independently. HCD-SE9 is required to operate this.
In this case of a service, please connect HCD-SE9.

Incorrect operations may be performed if the test mode is not entered properly.
In this case, press the  ?/1  button to turn the power off, and retry to enter the test mode.

• The cold reset clears all data including preset data stored in the RAM to initial conditions. Execute this mode when returning the set to

the customers.

Procedure:
1. Press the  ?/1  button to turn the power on. (HCD-SE9)
2. Press three buttons [NET MD], [REC/REC IT] and  

MD

 x  simultaneously.

3. When this button is operated, display as “Initialize” for a while and all of the settings are reset.

• This mode is used to check the software version, LCD, LED and keyboard.
Procedure:
1.

Press the  ?/1  button to turn on the power. (HCD-SE9)

2.

Press three bottons [NET MD], [REC MODE] and  

MD

 x  simultaneously.

3.

When the panel test mode is activated, all segments are turned on.

4.

Press the  

MD

 x  stick to all segments are turned off.

5.

When press the  

MD

 x  stick, following segments are turned on.

6.

When press the  

MD

 x  stick, following segments are turned on.

7.

Press the  

MD

 x  stick to all segments are turned on again.

8.

To exit from this mode, press the  ?/1  button. (HCD-SE9)

Procedure:
1.

Press the  ?/1  button to turn the power on. (HCD-SE9)

2.

Press three buttons  Z 

TAPE

  , [TAPE REC] and  

TAPE

 m  simultaneously.

3.

The set goes to the tape test mode and the “N” segments flash.

4.

Insert a recordable cassette tape.

5.

Input audio signal into the analog input.

6.

Press the [TAPE REC] button.

7.

Select the recording direction with the  

TAPE

 Y  button.

8.

Press the  

TAPE 

X  button to start recording.

9.

When the  

TAPE

 m  or  

TAPE

 M  stick against the tape recording direction is pressed, the tape returns to the recording started point

and the set starts playback.

10. To exit from this mode, press the  ?/1  button. (HCD-SE9)

Procedure:
1.

Press the  ?/1  button to turn on the power. (HCD-SE9)

Press three bottons  Z

x  simultaneously. The version of TC “TC x.xxx” is displayed.

3.

Whenever press the [DISPLAY] button, the version is displayed in order of MD, USB and TC.
