SYMPTOM When playing back an NTSC tape on certain manufacturers televisions, a noise bar
( head switching point ) may be noticed in the picture.
CAUSE
A software bug in IC701.
ACTION
From the October 1997 production of these machines, IC701 has been changed for a
modified type.
When experiencing this fault on a machine made before October 1997 ( Serial
numbers starting with the numbers 710 ) fit the modified IC using the part
number given below.
