Due to the increasing amounts of different paper types in use on our MFPs and weights it 
may be necessary to adjust the fuser temperature to suit the type and weight of paper your 
customer is using.  
 
Ensure the machine is set to the default Plain paper weight settings for fuser temp in Device 
Control 60-89gsm. 
 
Offsetting may occur due to too much heat in the fuser unit and toner build-up of the lower 
fuser roller.  
A lower fuser roller cleaning kit has been produced to clean the lower fuser roller, but 
fitting the cleaner roller to a machine which is causing issue due to fuser temperature will 
only mask the issue. 
 
If you have offsetting and lower roller build-up we advise to lower the fuser temperature 
for the type of paper being used first before fitting a lower cleaner roller kit.  
SIM 43 – 01 has 9 settings for each paper type default is zero and there are +/- 5,10,15 
and 20. 
 
Decrease the fuser temp by -5 and test, if this does not stop the offsetting decrease by -
10 and test. In some cases and especially when using 70gsm paper decreasing by -15 or 
-20. Always test the print quality when adjusting to ensure good fusibility, if the toner isn’t 
fusing correctly increase the temperature back up by 5 and test.  
 
This adjustment should prevent offsetting and lower fuser roller contamination, and 
possibly the need to fit a lower cleaning roller kit.
