The DM2000 can be flash upgraded using the appropriate equipment, and following
the procedures as set out below.

1. Machine (i.e. DM2000)

2. PC  (operating Windows 95 or 98)

3. Level Converter (UKOG-0002QSZZ)

a. Turn off the power to the machine.

b. Connect the level converter between the PC and the P2 socket on the

centre/rear frame side of the machine.

c.  Start Windows on your PC and locate the latest version programme from

your files. ( if you do not have the programmes they can be obtained from
the Sharp technical website @

d. Switch on the machine. If everything is connected properly the machines

screen will remain blank.

e. Execute “ maintenance- versionxxx.exe on the PC.

f. Select “ Program Data Download “ in the SPECIAL folder and follow the

menu on the PC to transfer data.

g. Select the data for the MCU to be transferred and execute.

h. If an electronic sort board AR-EB3 is fitted select and execute the data

for it.

i. On successful completion of the data transfer switch off the machine and

disconnect the PC and level converter.

j. Switch on the machine and check in Simulation 22-14 that ROM version

is correct.

The program in the Printer Control PWB flash memory can be flash upgraded
using the appropriate equipment, and following the procedures as set out below.

1. Machine (i.e. DM2000)
2. Personal Computer
3. Parallel Cable (IEEE1284 compliant)
4. Program Data File (Filename.BIN)

1.

Print the configuration list to check the firmware version.

2.

Connect the PC and the copier with the Parallel cable.

3.

Turn on the power.

4.

Execute SIM 67-14.
“Erase Flash Data” is displayed on the LCD.

5.

Press the ENTER key on the printer operation panel.
“Now Erasing” is displayed on the LCD.

6.

After deletion of the data, “Please Send Data” is displayed on the LCD and
the machine enters the ready state for data input.

7.

Down load the program file using DOS mode as follows:-
COPY /B filename.BIN LPT1   and press the enter key.

The machine enters the data reception mode.
While “Writing” is displayed on the LCD, data is being written to the flash
ROM. When data reception & writing into the flash ROM are completed, the
SUM check is automatically performed.

NOTE In case of an error “SUM check Error” is displayed, Turn off the power at

once & repeat the procedure

8. If there is no error, “Complete” is displayed on the LCD.

9.

Power cycle the copier, then re-print the configuration page
