1.Model Name:
AR-M550U/M620U
2.General:
To improve the cleaning method of the lower fuser roller we have introduced a new
cleaning roller and foil to the fusing unit, these new items will replace the current cleaning
method, the scraper blade.
3.Description
If the AR-M550/620 machine is installed into a high volume environment (150K-250K per
month), it is possible that the coating on the lower fuser roller will start to peel off causing
lines and spots on the copies. The upper fuser roller can sometimes get damaged due to
excess build of toner or the coating from the lower fuser roller getting underneath the
thermistors.
On low volume machines (20K-100K) the problem does not usually occur.
Current cleaning blade.
Modification Kit.
4.Action
It is recommended that on the low volume machines there will be no need to upgrade the
fuser unit with the modification kit until the respected service interval is reached, (250K for
the AR-M550, 300K for the AR-M620K). However in the unlikely event that the above
phenomenon arises on these low usage machines we suggest that the modification kit be
fitted ASAP.  For the high volume machines if there have been reports regarding the
problem then we suggest that the kits are fitted upon receipt of a copy quality complaint.
