Setting Details

EURO

This setting allows the POS to be set for 4 different conditions they are :-

EURO=0 Normal conditions apply
EURO=1 Normal Domestic Operation with Dual Display & Print at Sub Total
EURO=2 Dual Currency Operation with the Euro as the base currency
EURO=3 EURO Only Operation

EUROX

This should be set as the Exchange Rate of the number of domestic currency
units per EURO. i.e Number of Punts to the EURO

CURCHARD1

Sets the character to be displayed for the main currency

CURCHARD2

Sets the character to be displayed for the Old Domestic Currency in Mode 2

CURCHARP1

Sets the character to be printed for the main currency

CURCHARP2

Sets the character to be printed for the Old Domestic Currency in Mode 2

CURTEXT2

Text string that sets what is displayed  in the alternative currency box on the Sub
Total screen

PMALT

This setting sets the Payment Methods that can be used as alternative currency
payments in Dual mode operation.

A Price Converter utility has also been supplied that allows the Product file on the
installed POS to be converted to EURO pricing. The utility is called EUROCONV
and can only be run after an End Of Day routine on the POS.

Operation

The converted POS units are operated in the same way as currently, However in Mode 1
& 2 a secondary Subtotal Box will appear on the Sub Total screen to show the
secondary values. If the machine is in Mode 2 currency from both Euro and Domestic
Currency can be taken, the Domestic Currency via a preset method of payment.

N.B If Dual Currency is required the POS Base Currency will be EURO and therefore the
EURO pricing Conversion should have taken place.

Notice

To set the Euro Function it is only necessary to set EURO, EUROX & PMALT all other
settings can left and the default settings will be used.

33. Server Logon by Swipe

To further enhance security and improve general functionality a new method of Clerk
Logon has been implemented. It is possible to Log the Clerk onto the system using a
swipe card.

Programming

1.

To enable the feature select the “Table Swipe “ option within Till Configuration –
MCR Usage as follows: -

Server Swipe.

This setting allows greater flexibilty with the card types used and

enables every site to have different settings thus enhancing security.

The Format: setting is as follows :-

Individual site ID e.g 584

   %3

No of Digits to represent the Server Number e.g %3

This would mean that if we required 3 clerks with the above settings the cards would be
coded with the following information onto track 2.

34. Automatic Server Timeout

It can be possible for clerks using either Swipe or Push Key Logon to leave a machine
with themselves Logged On, this means they cannot access another machine without
returning to the logged on machine to log themselves off. It is now possible to set a
preset time in seconds that the clerk will Log Off automatically.
