11. From the Windows Desktop highlight the ‘My Computer’ icon and right click it using the
mouse or press ALT + F10 on the keyboard and from the drop down list select Properties.
12. Select ‘Network Identification' then select ‘Properties’.
13. From the ‘Identification Changes’ screen enter the required computer name then click OK.

14. Start ‘Windows Explorer’ from Start – Programs – Accessories – Windows explorer.
15. Right click the local disk C: and choose ‘Properties' - Sharing - New Share.
16. Within the ‘New Share' enter C as the 'Share Name' then click OK.
17. Removing the C$ share.
From the Sharing Tab select the drop down arrow next
to 'Share
Name'.

18. Ensure that the C$ is highlighted and select 'Remove Share'. Followed by 'Apply'.
19. To enable other computers on the network to connect to share files and folders on this
machine you will need to enable the 'Windows 2000 GUEST account'. This is disabled by
default.

20. To enable the guest account, Perform the following. Right click the 'My Computer' icon
and select 'Manage'. Within 'Computer Management' expand the Local User and Groups
option then highlight the Guest account on the right hand side (you will notice this has a
option then highlight the Guest account on the right hand side (you will notice this has a
'Red cross' next to it).
21. Within the 'Guest Properties' screen remove the Tick box next to 'Account Disabled' and
select apply.

1. Connect the USB CD-rom drive to the Terminal.
2. Load the driver that comes with the USB CD-rom drive.
3. Make sure that the operating system can see the USB CD-rom drive by running ‘Windows
Explorer’ from Start – All Programs – Accessories – Windows explorer. The USB CD-rom
drive will be shown as D:
4. Place the Venta CD into the USB CD-rom drive.
5. From the Venta CD run the file D:\Venta Application\Setup2003.exe
6. Select ‘Full install’ then choose next. Select ‘Finish’
Note: Please ensure that the correct computer name for the POS is set before continuing
with the ‘Venta Installation’.
There are 2 ways of loading the Venta Software from the CD supplied by Sharp (UK)
Í Via a shared CD-rom drive over the network from another PC.
Í Directly from a USB CD-rom drive attached to the USB port of the TERMINAL.
Í Directly from a USB CD-rom drive attached to the USB port of the TERMINAL.
Note: This documentation will follow the installation from the USB CD-rom.
