Connect the AC power cord to the AC adapter.
Open the plug frame and connect the AC adapter 
plug to the AC adapter jack.
Close the plug frame and lock the AC adapter plug 
to prevent disconnection.

Mode switch
The switch has the position ON ( I ) and STANDBY (
).
Set the mode switch to the ON ( I ) position after the terminal has been plugged into the wall outlet.
The STANDBY (
) position locks all operations of the POS terminal. When you select this position, the 
screen will disappear.
Power indicator
When the mode switch is set to the ON ( I ) position with the POS terminal plugged in, the power indicator at 
the lower right corner of the LCD panel will light up. When the mode switch is set to the STANDBY (
position or the POS terminal is unplugged, the power indicator will light out. The power indicator will remain 
on while the display’s backlight is off.

Contactless clerk switch is used with contactless clerk keys.

While moving the side cover release lever towards you, pull 
the side cover and rotate the cover upward as shown in the 
illustration at the right.

 The application software will determine the usage and availability of the external port.
Display adjustment
You can adjust the brightness of the display by using the 
brightness control (to adjust the brightness, rotate the dial to 
the right or left).
The display may be positioned for the best viewing angle. 
The allowable tilt angle of the display is within 53 degrees as 
shown in the illustration at the right.
CAUTION:
•  Do not pull the display beyond the maximum tilt angle nor apply excessive pressure to the display. 
When adjusting the display, hold the body of the terminal when pulling the display of the terminal to 
minimize terminal movement.
•  The LCD module built in this POS terminal is manufactured with highly precise technology. However 
bright pixels or blank pixels may appear. Occasionally, an irregular colour or uneven brightness may 
occur depending on the display settings or the view angle. Please note that this type of phenomena is 
common for LCDs and may not be a malfunction of the system.
•  The backlight in the display is a consumable part. 
When the LCD display can no longer be adjusted and becomes darker, you should replace the LCD 
module. Consult your authorized SHARP dealer for further details.

Displays
This POS terminal is equipped with a colour LCD operator display.
The operator display is a touch panel.
Operations can be performed by touching the screen (that shows keys or items) of the operator display.

Customer display
There are two customer display options available for the UP-3515.
A pole type customer display or an integrated type display can be installed.
Selecting an Operating Mode
The POS terminal will display the following listing by touching the 
[MODE] key.

Operating modes
You can select any mode other than REG from the list in the mode selection window. Your POS terminal 
supports the following operating modes:
REG mode
OPXZ mode
X1/Z1 mode
X2/Z2 mode
PRICE mode
PGM1 mode
PGM2 mode
AUTO KEY mode
SD CARD mode
This mode allows you to enter various sales information. The mode selection 
window does not list this mode. To select this mode from the mode selection 
window, touch the 
[EXIT] key.
This mode allows clerks to take X or Z reports on their sales information. It can 
also be used for employee time function.
This mode is used to take various daily reading (X1)/resetting (Z1) reports.
This mode is used to take various weekly or monthly reading (X2)/resetting (Z2) 
reports.
This mode allows you to program unit prices of PLUs.
This mode allows you to program those items which need to be changed often.
This mode allows you to program all PGM1 items and the items which do not 
require frequent changes.
This mode is used to program AUTO menu keys and automatic sequencing 
keys.
Provides data communications between the POS terminal and your personal 
computer using an SD card.
