The ROM version V1.60 is based on V1.51, but it is not compatible (neither Data nor Language 
Text Resources) with this ROM version. 
 
Due to changes in the memory structure, it is necessary to carry out the Master Reset with the 
dealer password (13974682) after the ROM Version update has been done. 
 
 
Important note: 
In order to comply with legal regulations in several European countries, the counting and Journal 
print/EJ storage of all carried out actions is necessary. 
 
Beside of the above mentioned, it is also necessary to set certain parameters to a default value 
during the setup procedure of the machine according to the requirements of the individual country 
law. 
 
If these parameters have been set once, they cannot be changed afterwards anymore (except by 
making a Master Reset again). Also a change by online function or loading of Programming Data

Caution V1.61: The ROM version V1.61 is based on V1.60, but it is not compatible (neither Data 
nor Language Text Resources) with this ROM version. 
 

Caution V1.62: The ROM version V1.62 is based on V1.61, but it is not compatible (neither Data 
nor Language Text Resources) with this ROM version. 
There exist two different ROM Versions. One is dedicated for the UP-3500 while the second one is 
dedicated for the UP-3515. Both ROM Versions are “ALL RAM” compatible, by means an “ALL 
RAM” backup from the UP-3500 can be loaded into the UP-3515 or vice versa. 
 

Note V1.63: The ROM version V1.63 is based on V1.62, and is fully compatible (Data and 
Language Text Resources) with this ROM version. 
 

Note V1.64: The ROM version V1.64 is based on V1.63, and is fully compatible (Data and

A new Master Reset procedure is available in order to set the ECR into the correct country mode 
during the setup phase. 

 
It is possible to setup the ECR easy and user friendly according to the country specific fiscal 
legislations. To keep this, it is prohibited to change the fiscal related setting after the ECR has been 
setup. Once fiscal setting has been done, it can be reset by Master Reset only. The fiscal related 
parameters can also not be changed afterwards anymore by using the online function or loading of 
Programming Data from SD Card. 
By carrying out a MRS Job, certain parameters as well as some text translation will be set 
automatically. Furthermore, all sales data are reset as follows: 
- Sales data including GT 
- Counters (Z Counter, Consecutive Number, Transaction Counter) 
- Some programming restrictions will be set accordingly. 
Without carrying out the country related fiscal job, the ECR keeps the original specification. 
In order to identify the country selected during the Master Reset procedure it will be displayed in 
the Status Bar.  

 
Furthermore, the chosen Fiscal Mode will be printed on the print out of

It must be possible to activate the Fiscal Electronic Journal even no country has been selected by the 
Master Reset procedure. With the new SRV parameter (#992A +4), the enhanced Fiscal EJ will be 
activated without setting some country related restriction.

In certain Report formats, some settings have been fixed according to the country selection during 
the setup phase. The grayed-out parameters are fixed and cannot be set anymore. Please refer to 
below mentioned picture as an example. 

 

 

To protect the written EJ data against manipulation a checksum will be used. 
The checksum is a 40 digits hexadecimal number and security algorithm will be used for its 
calculation. 
The calculated checksum is printed directly below the General Z-Report and is also written into the 
EJ. The calculated checksum is always printed in Fiscal mode. It is not printed on other reports than 
the General Z. Print format of the checksum is two lines. Example:
