Q. When downloading certain categories using the initial D/L
Function the Error message “NON RESET” may appear.
A. The NON RESET message is generally caused by the Slave
Machine containing Sales Data for Department, Transaction, PLU
or Hourly Sales.
To overcome the “NON RESET” message perform a system reset
report on the Master Terminal for the following reports: -
GENERAL, PLU and HOURLY.
Q. How do the AUTO KEY Settings get sent down to Slaves in a
System?
A. The Settings for the AUTO KEYS will be sent down to the
Slaves by selecting INITIAL D/L and then from this Menu select
OPTIONS.
Q. Overlap Clerks does not bring over transaction details from
Master to a Slave.
A. This and other events like this are generally caused by files
being created or increased or decreased in size on individual
machines which have already been set up as IRC machines.
Therefore whenever you change files (particularly Clerks, Overlaps
and GLUs) on a network machine you should then perform
another IRC set up.
Q. Does the Memory Initial job in Service Mode clear the
Electronic Journal.
A. The Electronic Journal is not cleared by the Memory Initial. (All
counters and Sales totals are reset to zero by Memory Initial).
There are 2 ways of clearing the Electronic Journal.
1. Electronic Journal Reset Report
2. Select Data Clear in Program Mode and select Electronic
Journal (This method will not produce a Printout).
Q. Can the UP3300 produce a report for PLU by Clerk (the End
User sometimes requests a report that will show which products a
Clerk has sold).
A. The UP3300 can produce a report for Department by Clerk and
as there are up to 99 Departments on the UP3300 this is usually
sufficient.
Q. Can the UP3300 be programmed to give Discounts on Food
items but not on Drink items.
A. The above can be achieved by using the Tax settings for
Discount rather than Tax, One of the 6 Tax settings for example
can be set to –10% you would then assign the Food to this Tax
rate. The Drink items would be assigned to another Tax rate.
MEMORY ALLOCATION
The UP3300 has 274497 bytes of memory available from master
reset
These are some of the files that are included from Master Reset: -
500 PLU with 3-price band, 3 pint prices 16 characters of text,
waste etc.
10 Departments 16 characters of text.
10 Clerks
50/1000 GLUs (type 1)
20/1000 GLUs (type 2)
100 Recipe Tables
10 Condiment Tables
10 Combo Tables
30 Link Tables
There are many other files.
The amount of memory remaining will allow for 10 overlap clerks
on a standalone machine or 6 clerks with Overlap on a Master
SRN machine.
With 6 Overlap and Master SRN Machine there are 46479 bytes
remaining.
This is on a standard MRS machine with many other files not
mentioned.
ELECTRONIC JOURNAL
The UP3300 has an Electronic Journal file feature.
The UP3300 can be set for the transactions to continue or lock out
when the EJ is full.
If you have it set to continue when EJ becomes full the first
transaction will remain in the EJ file but any subsequent
transactions will not be stored in the EJ file.
If you have programmed the UP3300 to lock when EJ becomes
full
it will then have to be reset in Z1 Mode or select DATA CLEAR in
PGM.
The operator will be warned that the EJ is full by a red box
indicator, this will appear below the total figure on the display. This
box will first appear as green, then change to amber, as the
Electronic Journal becomes full.
The Electronic Journal can produce reports for any or all of the
following categories: -
1.  By Consecutive Number range.
2.  By Date range.
3.  By Clerk range.
