Listening to the memorised DAB station

Memorising a station
You can store up to 20 DAB stations (5 stations for each zone A - D)
and recall them at the press of a button.
Note:
The backup function protects the memorised stations for a few
hours should there be a power failure or the AC power lead discon-
nection.

To recall a memorised station
Note:
If the selected preset number is empty the display shows "Preset**
empty".

To erase entire preset memory
If the "TIME SHIFT" indicator is on the display, press the TIME
SHIFT button to turn it off.

Tune in to the desired station. (See pages 19, 20.)

Press the PRESET SELECT button repeatedly to select the
desired preset zone.

Hold down the PRESET button (1 - 5) for
2 seconds or more to store the station
in memory.

Repeat steps 1 - 3 to set other stations, or to change a pre-
set station.
When a new station is stored in memory, the station previously 
memorised will be erased.

Press the PRESET SELECT button repeatedly to select the
desired preset zone.

Press the PRESET button (1 - 5) for less
than 1 second to recall a station.

Hold down the PRESET SELECT button
for 3 seconds or more.

Within 30 seconds, press the MEMORY/
SET button.

Listening to DAB stations in the time shift mode  
Use these functions when you are missing your favourite music for
answering calls, etc. Received data is stored in memory, and you
can listen to the music and view the DLS (Dynamic Label Segment)
from the desired position afterwards.
These functions are available only when receiving DAB band broad-
casting.

Rewind in the time shift mode
To cancel the rewind mode:
Press the TIME SHIFT button.
"TIME SHIFT" disappears.
Notes:
z
The memory is refreshed all the time. If full, the oldest data is
replaced by new one.
z
When recorded data is converted for playback, sound is muted
for a certain time period to prevent noise.
The maximum storage time depends on the bit rate of the data.
z
At 64 kbps: approx. 16.6 minutes
z
At 80 kbps: approx. 13.3 minutes
z
At 128 kbps: approx. 8.3 minutes
z
At 192 kbps: approx. 5.5 minutes

Whilst receiving a DAB station, press the TIME SHIFT but-
ton to enter the time shift mode.
z
"TIME SHIFT" appears in the display of the unit.
z
The memory stores DAB broadcasts.

Press the 
 or 
 button to set to the desired time.
Release the button to start playback.
Time on the display indicates a difference 
with the actual time. For example, "-02:30" 
indicates that playback is 2 minutes and 30 
seconds behind the actual time.

moves to the left and time 
goes back further.

Pause in the time shift mode
In the time shift mode, you can pause a DAB broadcast and listen to
the content from the desired position.
To cancel the pause mode:
Press the TIME SHIFT button.
Note:
If the memory becomes full in the pause mode, playback starts
automatically from where the   button was pressed. The memory is
continually refreshed.

Hold in the time shift mode
When you press the   (hold) button in the time shift mode, you can
repeatedly listen to broadcast content of several minutes before you
press it.
To cancel the hold mode:
Press the TIME SHIFT button.

Whilst receiving a DAB station, press
the TIME SHIFT button to enter the time
shift mode.

Press the   button at the desired posi-
tion.
z
Sound is not heard in the pause mode.
z
Elapsed time (shown as "-**:**") increases and the white 
block moves to the left.
z
DAB broadcasts are stored until the memory is full.

Press the   button to start playback.
Elapsed time remains the same.

Whilst receiving a DAB station, press
the TIME SHIFT button to enter the time
shift mode.

Sound is not heard in the hold mode.

Data in memory will be retained until the hold mode is can-
celled.

The white block indicates the current position.

To reverse, move the white block to the left by pressing the 
 button repeatedly.

To move forward, move the white block to the right by press-
ing the 
 button repeatedly.

In the hold mode, you can play stored data as many times as 
you want.

Changing the information display  
[Scrolling text]
Information scrolls across the display when sent from the station
(set by default).
You can pause, forward, or reverse scrolling text.
Pausing text scroll:
Press the MEMORY button.
Forwarding/reversing text scroll:
Whilst text scroll is paused, press the TUNING (  or  ) button. Text
scrolls by one character. Hold it to scroll through, and release to
return to the pause mode.
Resuming text scroll:
Whilst text scroll is paused, press the MEMORY button again.
[Programme type]
A description of the type of content being broadcast by the station.
[Multiplex name]
The name of the multiplex (ensemble) which provides the current
service.
[Channel/Frequency]
The DAB channel and frequency for the station.
[Mode]
The data transfer speed and channel type (stereo or mono) appear.
[Signal quality]
The signal quality is displayed as a number (0 - 100).
[85 - 100: Good  70 - 84: Fair  0 - 69: Poor]
[Sensitivity]
Sensitivity of reception.
The empty block indicates the minimum required level for reception
and the solid blocks indicate the current level.
You can switch information in the lower part of display.
Press the DISPLAY/INFO button.
Each time the button is pressed, the information display changes in the following order.
When "Not available" appears, the DISPLAY/INFO button does not allow you to change the dis-
play.
