Sampling:
Indicates the number of samples of a sound that are
taken per second when digitising sound. As the sample
rate increases, sound quality improves and data volume
grows.
Mode:
Select stereo or mono. Mono only for microphone. Select
stereo normally for FM radio or line-in recording.
BitRate:
Indicates the number of bits taken per second when com-
pressing digital sound. As the bit rate decreases, data
volume reduces and sound quality lowers.
MP3:
When recording, you can compress sound in MP3 for-
mat.
PCM:
When recording, the sound is digitised but not com-
pressed.

About auto-power off  
When the auto-power off is set, the unit turns off auto-
matically after a time period in the stop mode. (The auto-
power off does not work when listening to the FM radio.)

Press the POWER button to turn the power on
(see page 8).

Hold down the menu button for 0.5 seconds or more 
to return to the play mode.
