Using antislip speaker cushions:
You can install speakers either vertically or horizontally.
Affix the cushions (supplied) to the bottom of the speakers to prevent them from slid-
ing or falling due to vibration.

Aerial connection
Installing the AM loop aerial:
External FM or AM aerial:
Use an external FM or AM aerial if you require better reception. Consult your dealer.
Note:
When using an external AM aerial, be sure to keep the wire of the AM loop aerial
connected.

How to close side covers
When completing the connection, close the side covers (be careful not to trap the
wires).
Connecting the AC power lead
After checking all the connections have been made correctly, plug the AC power lead
of the unit into the wall socket.
Note:
Unplug the AC power lead from the wall socket if the unit will not be in use for a pro-
longed period of time.
(Horizontal position)
(Vertical position)
Supplied FM aerial:
Connect the FM aerial wire to the FM 75 OHMS
socket and position the FM aerial wire in the direction
where the strongest signal can be received.

Supplied AM loop aerial:
Connect the AM loop aerial wire to the AM and GND
terminals. Position the AM loop aerial for optimum re-
ception. Place the AM loop aerial on a shelf, etc., or
attach it to a stand or a wall with screws (not sup-
plied).

Note:
Placing the aerial on the unit or near the AC power
lead may cause noise pickup. Place the aerial away
from the unit for better reception.

To install the main unit and speakers on the wall
CAUTION:
! Be very careful to prevent the main unit [3.7 kg (8.2 lbs.)] from falling when mount-
ing on the wall.
! Before mounting, check the wall strength. (Do not put to the veneer plaster or
whitewashed wall. The main unit or speakers may fall.) If it is not clear, consult
with a qualified service technician.
! Mounting screws are not supplied. Use appropriate ones.
! Check all mounting screws for looseness and that they are engaged in the main
unit and speakers.
! Mount the main unit and speakers on the wall with 2 screws for each.
! Select a good location. If not, accidents may occur or the unit may get damaged.
! Avoid placing on a bed, sofa, water tank, sink and hallway wall.
! To avoid accidents, fix the speaker wires to the wall. You may trip over them.
! SHARP is not responsible for accidents resulting from improper installation.

Driving screws
Sharp designed the main unit and speakers so you may hang them on the wall.
Use proper screws (not supplied). See below for size and type.

Installing the main unit
1
Make a hole in the wall using a drill.
2
Drive a wall mount plug into the hole using a hammer, until it is
flush with the wall surface.
5 mm (3/16")
3.2 mm (1/8")
Min. 22 mm (7/8")
9 mm (3/8")
32 mm (1-1/4")
8-9 mm (3/8")
3
Drive two screws into the wall for main unit and each speaker, as
shown in the illustration.
! Make sure that both the screw and the wall can support a load of 20 kg (45
lbs.).
! Drive the screws, so the screw head extends about 5.5 mm (7/32") out from
the wall.
1
Fix the pattern paper and drive two screws into the wall with a dis-
tance of 160 mm (6-5/16") in between.
2
Tighten the screws and remove the paper. Hook the main unit on
the screw heads and make sure it is secure.
