(1) Replacement of the stapler assembly (continued)

Remove the screws. (x2)

Remove the stapler swing motor.

Remove the stapler harness from LWS
and the safety switch terminals.
(Note: When installing, the terminal of the
harness should  be returned to the
position indicated in the figure)

Remove the spring.

Remove the E ring. (x2)

Carefully cut any ty-raps used and remove
the safety switch harness.
NOTE: The stapler assembly replacement
part does not include the safety
switch harness, the swing motor, and
the safety switch link assembly.

Re-assemble in reverse order.
NOTE: Before re-installing the staple
cartridge, you need to tap it on a
hard suface 2 to 3 times. (refer to
illustration)

(2) Jammed staple removal

Conduct the stapler assembly replacement
procedure 1, 2, 4.
Check and replace the cartridge if it is
blocked.

Keep the release lever pressed.

Slide the channel frame upwards and
remove any jammed staples.

Conduct the stapler assembly
replacement procedure 6.

Rotate the staple drive motor to obtain the
highest stapler position.

Clear the stapler of any foreign material
and jammed staples.

Check the anvil (base which forms the
staple).

Remove the screw and remove the
paper feed roller (upper), and clean it.
