7 Test Mode
7.1.
Loopback Test Mode
This is for VoIP Communication Test Connection Chart.
7.1.1.
Preparation
Preparation device
• Unit for Test phone
• AC adaptor( or LAN cable and switching hub with PoE)
Set up unit in test mode by key control
1. Connect power plug (AC adaptor/PoE).
2. Push [1][*][CONF] keys within 3 seconds after power on.
3. Wait until Ringer LED goes off. Then release the three keys.
*If "Please wait..."is displayed before it fails in the setting for Test mode
  Try again from Step.1
4. Release keys. 
5. After 20 seconds,"HOOK Test" is displayed on LCD.
6. Press "SP-phone" key 9 times slowly.
"ACOUSTIC TEST" is displayed on LCD.
7.1.2.
Communication Test
It is set to Loopback Test mode to connect "Send signal" with "Receive signal" by inputting two number.
Input number is 6,7 and 8 and the mode is as follows
(I) :  Input    6.SP-phoneMIC  7.HandsetMIC  8.HeadsetMIC
(O): Output  6.SP-phoneSP   7.HandsetSP    8.HeadsetSP
For example
1. Handset MIC  
  Handset SP
          7                             7
   I:HsMic
   O:HsSp
 No sound
2. Handset MIC  
  SP-phone SP
          7                             6
   I:HsMic
   O:Sp
 OK
This result shows there is a problem in the signal line of Handset SP.
Headset
AC Adaptor : PNLV6508**
  or Equivalent
  or PoE(to LAN port)

Quit Test Mode for communication test 
Just power off.
7.2.
Functional Test Mode
This unit has some functional test modes.
By using this mode,you can easily check KEYs,LEDs and Others.
7.2.1.
Preparation
Preparation devise:
• Unit for test phone.
• AC adaptor or Ethernet cable(PoE).
Set up a unit in Test mode by key control
1. Push [1] [ *] [CONF] keys within 3 seconds after power on.
2. Wait until Ringer LED goes off. Then release the three keys.
3. Then the LCD displays below 
7.2.2.
Functional Test mode lists
(HOOK TEST)
1. Then the LCD displays [HOOK Test].
 (When skip [HOOK Test], Press SP-PHONE key.)
The RINGER LED is on/off according to HOOK switch.
Press SP-PHONE key.
(HEADSET TEST)
2. Then the LCD displays [HEADSET Test].
(When skip [HEADSET Test], Press SP-PHONE key.) 
The RINGER LED is on/off according to Headset detection. 
Press SP-PHONE key.
(EHS TEST)
3. Then the LCD displays [EHS Test](test for plantronics EHS).
The RINGER LED is on : EHS unit connected 
The RINGER LED is off : EHS unit unconnected 
Press SP-PHONE key.
4. Then the LCD displays [Jabra Test](test for Jabra EHS).
The RINGER LED is on : Jabra unit connected 
The RINGER LED is off : Jabraunit unconnected 
Press SP-PHONE key.
(LCD TEST)
5. Then the Color TFT LCD displays a white screen.
Press # key.
6. Then the Color TFT LCD displays a color bar test chart.
Press SP-PHONE key.
(KEY TEST)
7. Then the LCD displays [Key-Check Test]. Press all keys except SP-PHONE key.
Press SP-PHONE key.
8. Then the LCD displays [Key-Check OK].
Press SP-PHONE key.
(LEDs TEST)
9.  Confirm all red LEDs turn on except intercom LED.
Press SP-PHONE key.
10. Confirm all red LEDs of intercom and Ringer change to green.
Press SP-PHONE key.
Then the Color TFT LCD displays the soft version.VER : xx.xxx].
Press SP-PHONE key.
(ACOUSTIC TEST)
12. Then the LCD displays [RESONANCE test].
Confirm speaker is functioning.
Press SP-PHONE key.
13. Then the LCD displays [ACOUSTIC TEST].
This TEST mode is not used in service. Press SP-PHONE.

14. Then the LCD displays [MODEL : KX-NT680].
Press SP-PHONE key.
15. Then the LCD displays [PASS : xxxx].
Press SP-PHONE key.
16. Then the LCD displays MAC address[MAC : xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx].
Press SP-PHONE key.
7.2.3.
Quit this Test Mode
It is OK to quit anytime during test mode. Disconnect AC adaptor or Ethernet cable(PoE).

8 Service Mode
8.1.
Factory Setting
8.1.1.
How to Clear User Setting
Units are reset to the Factory settings by this operation (Erase stored Phone numbers, Caller list and etc.).
This operation should not be performed for a usual repair.
To perform IP Reset
1. Connect power plug(AC adaptor/PoE)
2. Press "1","5","9"and ""*" at the same time within 3 seconds after power on.  
Keep it until Ringer LED is blink.
3. Release keys.
4. Power off.
8.2.
How to Change MAC Address Label
(Procedure after Replacing the Main P.C.B.)
When replacing the Main P.C.B., customer data shall be renewed before sticking the included MAC/Address.
8.2.1.
Replacing Main P.C.B.
Note:
(*1) : If you reuse defective P.C.B. for another repairing unit by repairing. Peel off the serial number and MAC address label on
original bottom cabinet and keep them with defective P.C.B..
(*2) : If you do not reuse the defective P.C.B. by repairing, scrap the P.C.B. to prevent the leak of customer's information in flash
ROM.
