4 Technical Descriptions
4.1.
Block Diagram
In this chapter we'll describe the block diagram of KX-HTS824/32 system.
There are many functional block in this system and each block function is described in table.1.

Unit Name
Description
PBX Unit
HTS824 is costructed by the PBX unit that provides the functionality of a PBX, and the AC/DC unit that 
generates a power supply inside the device.
And the PBX unit is constructed by Main unit and Line Circuit unit. the Main unit is responsible for PBX 
functions, monitoring and control, on the other hand, Line Circuit unit is constructed by analog exten-
sion, analog trunk functions. 4 channel analog trunk line and 8 channel analog extension line circuits are 
implemented  by default, in addion to LCOT4 + SLC8, optional card such as LCOT4 / SLC8 / DPH2 can 
be implemented on option slot.
AC/DC Unit
The AC/DC unit will generate DC power inside from AC100-240V external power line. In addtion to AC 
power input method, HTS824 can operates by DC12V backup battery to avoid unexpected power out-
age.
Main Unit
The Main unit is constructed by dedicated CPU that is responsible for PBX function, monitoring and 
control. Furthermore, this CPU includes Gigabit Ether L2SW, DSP function which provide transcoding 
function between TDM and VoIP, and Wireless LAN (IEEE802.11b/g/n) interface function.

Unit
4.2.1.
LCOT4 Block
LCOT4 block is responsible for supporting up to 4 ports Analog Trunk interface with Caller ID function.
4.2.1.1.
PLD
A PLD (Programable Logic device) is equipped on KX-HT82480(LCOT4 Option Card), and this device has several interfacing func-
tions as below.
4.2.1.2.
Dial Pulse Signal Transmission
Transmits 10pps/20pps dial pulse by a open/close action between Tip and Ring with Photo MOS relay which is controlled by DSP
GPIO port.
The make width, break width and inter digit width for 10pps/20pps can be set respectively.
When making DP[0-3] pin of DSP becomes Low level, and PC902A-D turns ON. When breaking, DP[0-3] of DSP becomes High
level, and PC902A-D turns OFF.

4.2.1.3.
Circuit For Line Acquisition
Making DP[0-3] pin of DSP becomes Low level, and PC902A-D turns ON and the line is acquired.
It is used in common as Dial Pulse transmitting circuit.

After line acquisition, DC and/or AC characteristics (Dynamic Range and Distortion etc) are controlled by current controll function of
DC Loop Circuit.
Also it provides the SHUNT control function for the stabilization of line power depending on the destination. Turning on  PC903A-D
when transmitting pulse reduces the impedance at making, and stabilizes the line power.
4.2.1.4.
DTMF Signal Transmission
DTMF signal is generated by DTMF generator in the DSP device.
