10.3.8. Adjustment

1. Click "Shading" on the adjust menu.
2. Set the resolution (300dpi, 600dpi) and click "OK"
3. Clean the conveyor, rollers, Scanning Glass (F) and (B) 
according to the message on the display. And click "OK".
4. Set Shading Sheet (Part No:PNQE1093Z-J) on the Feed Tray.
5. And click "OK" to scan the Shading Sheet.
6. After "Finished Adjusting" message, click "OK" to return to 
the adjust menu.
Until this process is
completed, don't stop the 
process by opening any doors 
or turning off the scanner.
Shading data
1. Click "Shading data" on the adjust menu.
2. Click "Get Shading Data".
3. Save it to selected folder.
4. Click "OK" to return to the adjust menu.
This data file is used for 
analysis.
All position
1. Set 2 pcs of test chart A (Part No.: PBQX90095Z-J) on the 
Feed Tray.
2. Click "All position" on the adjust menu to execute scanning 
position and length adjustment.
3. Check the result.
4. Click "OK" to return to the adjust menu.
Set 2 pcs of test chart A on 
the Feed Tray in order. 
1st page: Front side 
2nd page: Back side
Individual position 1. Adjust Automatically.
a. Set test chart A (Part No.:PBQX90095Z-J) on the Feed Tray.
b. Click "Individual position" on the adjust menu. 
c. Click one of 6 "Adjust Automatically" buttons to execute 
the adjustment. 
d. Check the result.
e. Click "OK" to finish the adjustment. 
f. Click "OK" to return to the adjust menu.
2. Adjust Manually.
a. Click "Individual position" on the adjust menu. 
b. Change the parameters (mm, %)  as required. (Refer to 
Remarks.) 
c. Click "OK" to renew the setting, and to return to the adjust 
menu.

10.3.9. Other
Double feed
1. Set the Shading Sheet (Part No.: PNQE1093Z-J) on the Feed 
Tray, sliding the Document Guides so that they match the 
document width.
2. Click "Double feed" on the adjust menu.
3. Click "Adjust Automatically" to adjust the double feed 
sensitivity.
4. Check the result.
5. Click "OK" finish the adjustment.
6. Click "OK" to return to the adjust menu. 
* USB ID
1. Click "USB ID" on the adjust menu.
2. Click "Set" to store a new ID number for a new replaced 
CONTROL Board.
3. Click "Close" to return to the adjust menu.
*This setting is available 
only for a new replaced 
CONTROL Board.
Sensor sensitive 
level
1. Click "Sensor sensitive level" on the adjust menu.
Note
If dusts remain on the Starting Sensor, the adjustment is not 
done properly and the paper detection may not work. 
2. Click "Adjust"
3. Check each Sensor sensitive level (LED Current).
4. Click "Close" to return to the adjust menu.

10.4. Service Mode
Without connecting the scanner to the PC, the following Scanner self-tests can be performed. The following mechanical tests are
generally used after replacing or reassembling rollers and other mechanical parts related to feeding documents.

11 Troubleshooting
11.1. Troubleshooting-1 (when no error message is displayed on PC)
Symptom
Possible Cause
Recommended action
LED does not light
up.
1. Power cord is not inserted correctly.
Insert the power cord correctly.
2. Cables in the scanner are not 
connected properly. (especially around 
Power Supply)
Insert the cables properly.
3. FAN does not rotate.
1. Try to rotate the FAN, manually
2. Check the power supply to the FAN.(CN22 1st pin)
3. Replace the FAN
4. Power Board does not work, properly.
1. Measure the following voltage on CONTROL Board.
CN21  4-5th pin: +24V
2. Check the connection between the Control Board and 
Power Board.
3. Replace Power Board.
5. Power Switch on PANEL Board does 
not work, properly.
1. Check the following connection.
(1) CN5000 (PANEL Board) and CN10 (CONTROL 
Board)
(2) FFC Cable
2. Measure the following resistance value, when the power 
cord is unplugged.
(1) CN5000 10th pin – GND : 0 Ω (SW5004 ON)
(2) CN5000 10th pin – GND : over 10kΩ (SW5004 OFF)
3. Replace SW5004 or PANEL Board.
6. Boot program of this scanner does not 
work, correctly.
Replace CONTROL Board
7. DC ON/OFF circuit on CONTROL 
Board does not work correctly.
1. Monitor the following signals. (when turning on the power)
(1) Q51-G : Typ. 12 V
(2) Q48-C : Typ. 11 V
(3) Q50-B : Typ. 0.6 V
(4) +7.0V (CL189) : Typ. 7V
2. Check the soldering condition of the following parts and of 
their surrounding circuits on the CONTROL Board. 
Q48, Q50, Q51
3. Monitor the following signals.
(1) Q48 (C-E) : Typ. 0 V
(2) Q50 (C-E) : Typ. 0 V
4. Replace faulty parts.
8. CONTROL Board does not work 
properly.
1. Perform the "LED" test in Sec. 
10.3.7.
 to check the LED 
ON/OFF status.
2. Check whether all connections and cables on the 
CONTROL Board are normal.
3. Check the soldering condition of the following parts and of 
their surrounding circuits on the CONTROL Board.
(1) +1.2V (CL196) : Typ. 1.2V
(2) +7V (CL189)    : Typ. 7.0V
(3) +3.3V (CL190) : Typ. 3.3V
(4) IC9 (PF4)
(5) IC6 (Reset IC)
4. Check the soldering condition of the following parts on the 
CONTROL Board.
(1) CN10
5. Monitor the following signals. 
CN10-8th pin : +3.3V
6. Replace faulty parts or CONTROL Board.
