2.2.11.5. Low Toner Sensor Circuit
Low Toner Sensor detects the shortage of toner. IC006 (CPU) sends the nTECTL (Pin7, IC006) signal to
Q008. When the nTECTL is low level, transistors Q008 and Q004 are turned On. and LED D517 emits light.
If the toner is shorted (empty), the light from LED D517 passes through the lens of the Toner Cartridge.
When the photo transistor PI451 receives the light, the PI451 is turned On, and the TESEN (Pin4, IC004)
signal becomes Low.

PNL PC Board Block Diagram (Panel PCBs)
The PNL1 PCB consist of Panel Control CPU, Real Time Clock and other peripherals. It has no decision
making functions, which are controlled by Command Signals from the SC PCB.
The PNL2, 3 and 4 consist of LED and Switches, which are controlled by PNL1.

Shutdown / Sleep Mode
Note:
Shutdown / Sleep Modes can be selected in the User Mode.
This function reduces the power consumption in standby mode.
During Shutdown Mode, power is supplied to the Energy Saver Lamp to keep it illuminated, to the circuit
that monitors incoming Ringing signals, and to circuits that maintain Deferred communications only. The
power is recovered only when an incoming Ringing signal is detected, the time to perform a Deferred
communication has lapsed, or the Energy Saver key is pressed.
During Sleep Mode, power is supplied to the Energy Saver Lamp to keep it illuminated, to the circuit that
monitors incoming Ringing signals, to circuits that maintain Deferred communications, and to the circuit that
monitors incoming PC Print Data only. The power is recovered only when an incoming Ringing signal is
detected, the time to perform a Deferred communication has lapsed, when an incoming print data from a
PC is detected, or the Energy Saver key is pressed.
