1) SAFETY CAUTION     
•  The main power board assembly has exposed live 120 VAC and live DC voltages. Use care when disconnecting 
connectors during troubleshooting and testing. (Wear electrostatic discharge gloves when handling the board. 
•  Unplug the power when handling the board assembly. (Wear electrostatic discharge gloves when handling the 
board. Store the board in an ESD [ElectroStatic Discharge] plastic bag.) 
2) SERVICE MODE
The washer must be empty and the controls must be plugged in and turned off.
•  Touch the POWER button to turn on.
•  Touch the Set Up Icon. Follow the picture.
•  Entering the TEST MODE, the buzzer will sound twice and the display will change to QC Test mode.

4-4. Smart TroubleShooting  
1) Wireless Network Problem
[Complaint] 
Can not connect to Wi-Fi Network
[Solutions]
1. Check if home Wi-Fi router is ‘ON’ and installed correctly  (may need to reset the router)
2.  Check if Wi-Fi is ‘On’ at the Washer / Dryer screen  
(Display  ‘Settings’ > ‘Wi-Fi’ > ‘On’) 
(Refer to Figure (a), (b) )

If Wi-Fi  can not be turned ‘ON’ check if there is a Wi-Fi modem plugged in 
3. Turn Wi-Fi ‘OFF’ for 5 seconds then turn Wi-Fi ‘ON’
4. Unplug the power cord for 1 minute, then plug the power cord 
5. Check the router’s Wi-Fi Setting.
    →  Some routers limit the number of accessed devices.    
Adjust the router’s settings to allow more devices.
6. Or else follow below steps.
[Complaint] 
No Wi-Fi or Weak Wi-Fi signal strength
- If the signal strength is weak ( 0, 1, or 2 bars ), the smart features related to Wi-Fi connectivity are limited.
[Solutions]
1. Connect a PC or smartphone to the home network and see if Internet is working 
   → If unable to connect to the home network or Internet is not working, then Customer need to check Router or 
ISP service 
2.  See if it is possible to move the home router closer to the Washer / Dryer  
 Check if the Wi-Fi strength gets stronger
3.  Improve the Wi-Fi signal strength  
  If you can not move the router, it is recommended to install a Wi-Fi repeater  to increase the Wi-Fi signal 
strength

1. Download the app. from the Google Play Store or Apple Store. (Search for “LG Smart Laundry”)

※ Precondition:   1) Product Registration is already complete on the Washer / Dryer 
2) Washer / Dryer connected to home Wi-Fi network
This section describes how to update the firmware over the Wi-Fi network or using a USB Card.
 Firmware update through the Wi-Fi network.
※ Precondition:

Confirm the Laundry Wi-Fi is ‘ON’ and connected to the home network

Product registration (log-in) is completed.
[Steps]
1. Select ‘Smart Adapt’ in the ‘smartThinQ’ menu
2. Select ‘Program Update’
3.  If a firmware update is available, select ‘Yes’ to update to the latest version.  
(The updating process can take up to 15 minutes.)
4. The Complete screen displays after updating. Pressing ‘Close’ will restart the Laundry machine 
※ Updating time depends on the network connection 
 
(A strong network connection will have a faster download)
