5-3. BRAKE OPERATION
The brake assembly is fitted to the top of the spin
motor with 3 screws. The brake shoe is positioned to
make contact with the coupling located between the
spin dryer basket and the spin motor. The brake is
operated by the brake wire assembly connected to the
brake wire hanger.
When the spin dryer cover is raised 20 to 35 degrees in
a horizontal position, the brake is activated and the
empty spin dryer basket should stop within 5 seconds.
(1) If the empty spin dryer basket stops over 10 sec-
onds, unscrew the brake wire screw, pull up the
brake wire supporter and then tighten the brake

5-4. VOLTAGE CHANGE (Dual Voltage Type Only)
Models equipped for dual voltage can be adjusted to operated  on a power supply of either 110 (or 127) V or
220 volts. However, in order to avoid the danger of fire and prevent damage to the washing machine, the
voltage setting must match the voltage of your power supply. The voltage set at the factory is indicated on
the “Present Voltage” label on the back of the washing machine. To change the voltage setting, follow the
procedure that follows :
(1) Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet by grasping the plug itself.
(2) Use a screwdriver to remove the back cover from the washing machine. (fig. a)
(3) Remove the vinyl bag covering the lead wire housing. (fig.b)
(4) To change the voltage setting from 220V to 110 (or 127) V, disconnect the housing marked “220 V” and connect
the housing marked “110 (or 127) V”, to change the voltage setting from 110 (or 127 )V to 220 V, disconnect the
housing marked “110 (or 127) V” and connect the housing marked “220 V”. (fig.c)
(5) Cover the housing with the vinyl bag and reattach the back cover.
(6) Be sure to indicated the new voltage setting on the “Present Voltage” label for future reference.
