1. Air purging
Required tools: Hexagonal wrench, adjustable wrench,
torque wrenched, wrench to hold the
joints, and gas leak detector.
The air in the indoor unit and in the piping must be
purged. If air remains in the refrigeration pipes, it will
affect the compressor, reduce to cooling capacity, and
could lead to a malfunction.

Service port nut.
Be sure, using a torque wrench to tighten the service port nut (after using the service port), so that it prevents the
gas leakage from the refrigeration cycle.
• Procedure
(1) Confirm that both the liquid side valve and the gas
side valve are set to the closed position.
(2) Connect the center hose of the gauge adn a gas
cylinder. Connect the hose or the hi-pressure side
and the service port or the liquid side valve.
- Leave the vale on the gas cylinder closed.
(3) Check for gas leakage.
- Open the valve on tehgas cylinder and the hi-handle of
the gauge, wait 10 seconds, and then set them to closed
position.
- Check the flare connections for gas leakage.
(4) Air purging
- Open the vlaves on the gas cylinder and the hi-handle of
the gauge.
- Use the Hexagonal wrench to press the gas side valve's
core pin, discharge for three seconds and then wait for
one minute. Repeat this three times.
(5) Discharge the refrigerant.
- Close the valve on the gas cylinder and discharge the
refrigerant until the gauge indicated 0.5 to 1 kg/cm
2
G.
(6) Disconnect the gauge and the gas cylinder.
(7) Apply steps from 1 to 6 to each (A-unit, B-unit, C-
unit) by the same method.
(8) Set the both liquid an gas side valves to open
poition with the Hexagonal wrench for the unit
operation.
(9) Mount the valve caps and the service port caps.
Caution
Remember that outdoor unit does not contain
the refrigerant for air purge
when you purge the
air, you should charge your refrigerant (or purchased) by
use of the gas cylinder and the manifold gauge.
If gas leakage are discovered in step 3 above, take
the following measures:
If the gas leaks top when the piping connections are
tightened further, continue working from step 4. If the
gas leaks do not stop when the connections are
retightened, repair the location of the leak, discharge
all of the gas through the service port, and then
recharge with the specified amount of gas from a
gas cylinder.

- Remove the valve caps and confirm that the valve
stems are inthe raised position.
- Be sure to use a hexagonal wrench to operate the
valve stems.
(2) Operate the unit for 10 to 15 minutes.
(3) Stop opertion and wiat for 3 minutes, then connect
the manifold gauge to the service port of the gas
side valve.
- Connect the hose of the gauge with the push pin to
th service port.
(4) Air purging of the charge hose.
- Open the Low-handle valve on the gauge slightly to
air purge from the hose.
(5) Set the liquid side vale to the closed position.
(6) Operate the air conditioner at the cooling cycle and
stop it when the gauge indicates 1 kg/cm

(7) Immediately set the gas side valve to the closed
position.
- Do this quickly so that the gauge ends up
indicating 1 kg/cm

g.
(8) Disconnect the gauge, and mount the liquid side
and gas side valve caps and the service port nut.
- Use torque wrench to tighten th service port cas to
a torque of 1.8 kg.m. (4.2 kg.m/5.5 kg.m).
- Be sure to check for gas leakage.
