. ABOUT THE ERROR INDICATION
In this unit, “printer status” and “last 10 error status” can be indicated
and checked in the service mode.
Startup procedure
1.
Start the service mode. (Refer to Section 3-1-1.)
2.
Select “Print Status” using the  DIRECTION buttons (f,F)
and press the [ENTER] button.
“Status indication” screen is displayed. The 1/2 page and the
2/2 page are displayed by using the DIRECTION buttons (f,
F).
**Error 0** is displayed on the initial status screen in the past error
status. To display the earlier error history, press the  DIRECTION
button (G) and to display the later error history, press the
DIRECTION button (g). The pages can be selected by using the
DIRECTION buttons (f, F).
When the DIRECTION button (g) is pressed in the **Error 0**
state, **Last Status** is displayed. In the case that no error occurred
in the past, **Last Status** is displayed on the initial status screen.
Use the DIRECTION button (g) to display **Current Status**.

. MECHANICAL OPERATION CHECK
The mechanical check is performed in the service mode.
Procedure:
1.
Start the service mode. (Refer to Section 3-1-1.)
2.
Select “Mechanical Test” using the DIRECTION buttons
(f,F)  and press the [ENTER] button. The following menu
screen is displayed.
3.
Press the [CANCEL] button on this Menu screen to return to
the startup screen of the service mode while any test mode is
running, except when the head motor aging or the paper feed
motor aging is running.
4.
When the mechanical operation check is complete, quit the
service mode. (Refer to Section 3-1-1.)
Description of operation:
Each operation of this unit is performed when the button on the
operation panel is pressed.
Note
Do not press the button that is not described below.
• [ENTER] button:
The head position returns to the initial state when this button is
pressed.
• DIRECTION button (f) :
The head position moves upward when this button is pressed.
• DIRECTION button (F) :
The head position moves downward when this button is pressed.
• [MENU] button:
The head motor aging starts when this button is pressed. When
the [CANCEL] button is pressed during aging, the operation is
discontinued.
• [PRINT] button:
The electric current of head motor is switched when this button
is pressed. The electric current is switched as follows every time
the button is pressed.

The paper feed motor moves in the paper feed direction when
this button is pressed. The speed changes every time this button
is pressed.

this button is pressed. The speed changes every time this button
is pressed.

When the [CANCEL] button is pressed during aging, the operation
is discontinued.
 (Reduce) button:

the button is pressed.
