3-3-2. BUTTON/LED/TRAY SENSOR/RIBBON
SENSOR OPERATION CHECK
The operation of each button, LED and sensors can be checked.
Note:
After the machine enters this mode once, it cannot exit this mode
until the “Button operation check” is completed.
Procedure:
1.
Start the service mode. (Refer to Section 3-1-1.)
2.
Select “Button Test” using the DIRECTION buttons (f,F)
and press the [ENTER] button.
The following screen is displayed
Button operation check
Press the button on the operation panel of this unit. The pressed
button indication on the LCD of main unit lights in yellow. The
following screen shows that the [MENU] button is pressed.
When all 10 buttons are pressed one button after another, all button
indications on the screen light in red.
[Check and adjustment upon completion of
 version upgrade]
1.
While pressing the [ENTER] and [CANCEL] buttons
simultaneously, press the [ON/STANDBY| button. (Service
mode starts.)
2.
Release all buttons when the initial screen of the service mode
is displayed on the LCD display.
1) Check the CHECKSUM: value.
Check that the CHECKSUM value (hexadecimal value)
displayed on the screen is the same as the value of the
firmware 
name registered
 in ESI homepage.
2) Check that the destination is not changed. (Destination is
displayed by XX of “DPP-FP95 (XX)” on the topmost line
of the service mode screen.)
3) If destination is changed after version upgrade is completed,
execute both items of destination change (as shown in
[Procedure of destination change] below) and LCD contrast
adjustment (VCOM).
For the procedure of the LCD contrast adjustment (VCOM),
refer to Service Manual “SECTION 3-2-2. LCD contrast
Adjustment, Color display check”.
4) For the procedure of the destination change, refer to the
next paragraph [3-2-4. Setting of destination] shown below.
3-2-4. SETTING OF DESTINATION
1.
While pressing the [ENTER] and [CANCEL] buttons
simultaneously, press the [ON/STANDBY] button. (Service
mode starts.)
2.
Release all buttons when the initial screen of the service mode
is displayed on the LCD display.
3.
Press the DIRECTION button (F) several times to move the
cursor to [Select Model], and press [ENTER] button.
4.
Move the cursor to the desired destination by using the
DIRECTION buttons (f,F,g,G) and press [ENTER] button.
5.
Press the DIRECTION button (f) several times to return to
the initial screen (on which “DPP-FP95 (XX)” is displayed) of
the service mode to confirm that the destination is changed.
6.
Turn off the power and disconnect the power cord from the
receptacle.
3-3-1. FAN OPERATION CHECK
Operation of fan can be check as follows:
Procedure:
1.
Start the service mode. (Refer to Section 3-1-1.)
2.
Press the [PRINT] button on the service mode startup screen.
3.
Check that the fan rotating sound changes in the following order
starting from
Low speed 
t High speed t Stop by every
pressing of the [PRINT] button.
4.
Quit the service mode. (Refer to Section 3-1-1.)

When the checks of all buttons are completed without problem, the
initial screen of the service mode is displayed and “OK” is displayed
to the right of “Button Test”.
3.
Quit the service mode. (Refer to Section 3-1-1.).
LED operation check
Check that the “PRINT LED” and the “Access LED” light up during
the “Button Test”, and then flash before turning off when the “Button
Test” is completed.
Ribbon sensor operation check
Whether the ribbons are correctly recognized or not can be checked.
Check to see that the ribbon type display on the screen agrees with
the inserted ribbon when different types of ribbon are inserted.

Whether the trays are correctly recognized or not can be checked.
Check to see that the tray type displayed on the screen agrees with
the inserted tray when different types of tray are inserted.

3-3-3. IMAGE READING CHECK FROM MEMORY
CARD
Image reading from Memory Stick or Memory Stick Duo, SD card
or CF card and xD-Picture card can be checked. (If it is JPG, the
image is arbitrary.)
Preparation:
Place the JPEG file in the root directory of a Memory Stick.
(Filename: MS.jpg)
Place the JPEG file in the root directory of an SD card.
(Filename: SD.jpg) (Use the LOCK OFFed card.)
Place the JPEG file in the root directory of a CF card.
(Filename: CF.jpg)
Place the JPEG file in the root directory of a xD-Picture card.
(Filename: XD.jpg)
Procedure:
1.
Start the service mode. (Refer to Section 3-1-1.)
2.
Select “Card Test” by using the DIRECTION buttons (f, F)
and press the [ENTER] button.
3.
Insert the Memory Stick that is prepared separately, and confirm
the image of MS.jpg is displayed.
4.
Pull out the Memory Stick, and insert the SD card that is
prepared separately, and confirm the image of SD.jpg is
displayed.
5.
Pull out the SD card, and insert the xD-Picture card that is
prepared separately, and confirm the image of XD.jpg is
displayed.
6.
Pull out the xD-Picture card, and insert the CF card that is
prepared separately, and confirm the image of CF.jpg is
displayed.
Even if the button is not pushed, it is judged that the card is inserted.
Insert all of the one card, and confirm it.

3-3-4. USB HOST/DEVICE COMMUNICATION
CHECK
The digital camera for PictBridge or the digital camera , the USB
memory and the photo storage for the mass storage are connected
with the terminal PictBridge/EXT INTERFACE of this machine,
and confirm that this machine reacts.
This machine  connects with Windows PC that installs software by
USB cable, and confirm that Windows PC reacts.
7.
When all memory cards reading are completed, press the
[ENTER] button.
• When all memory cards work normally so that  images can
be read without error, the character OK is displayed on the
right of “Card Test” on the service mode startup screen.
• If a memory card is not set, or if image is not  contained in a
memory card, or image cannot be   read from a memory
card, background of the screen  becomes red and the character
NG (No Good) is displayed in the  left bottom of a screen.
• If either a memory card is NG (No Good), the    character
NG (No Good) is displayed on the right of “Card Test”  on
the service mode startup screen.
8.
Quit the service mode. (Refer to Section 3-1-1.)
3-3-5. 
Output confirmation of HDMI
 Check of HDMI OUT
Confirm the monitor corresponds to the HDMI input is connected
with this unit HDMI OUT and the image is displayed in the HDMI
monitor without trouble.
 Check of HDMI CEC
When there is a monitor corresponds to CEC
Confirm the monitor for CEC is connected with this machine, and
CEC can control without trouble.
When there is no monitor corresponds to CEC
It is possible to make this unit work by setting the service mode as
SINK jig for the HDMI CEC check.
Prepare this machine "B" (DPP-FP95 or DPP-FP85 other than the
service set) for the HDMI CEC check, set the SINK jig by the
following procedures, and check HDMI CEC when there is no
monitor for CEC.
Procedure:
Setting of SINK jig
1.
Prepare another machine (this machine "B" as follows) besides
this machine that checks CEC.
(The SINK equipment for corresponds to CEC )
2.
Start this machine B in the service mode. (Refer to Section 3-
1-1. )
3.
Select "System Setting" with the DIRECTION buttons (f,F),
and push the [ENTER] button.

4.
Push the sending decision button to CEC JIGU MODE with
the DIRECTION buttons (f,F). Set to turning on with the
DIRECTION buttons (f,F) and push the [ENTER]  button.
Push the DIRECTION buttons (f,F) select to "Exit", and end
System Setting.
Under such a condition, this unit B is made to the HDMI CEC
SINK jig and comes to work.
*
CEC JIGU MODE cannot be turned off as long as this unit
power supply is not turned off when setting it to turning on
once. If the power supply of this machine is turned off once,
CEC JIGU MODE is automatically turned off.
Note:
Please do not connect it with the SINK device like HDMI
monitor at CEC JIGU MODE ON.
HDMI CEC check
1.
Start this unit in the service mode. (Refer to Section 3-1-1. )
2.
"CEC/Freq Test" is selected with the DIRECTION buttons
(f,F), and the [ENTER]  button is pushed.
3.
Connect this machine and the SINK jig (this unit "B") with the
HDMI cable and push the [ENTER]  button of this unit.
Confirm becoming the display of "CEC Test: OK".
4.
Push the cancel button.
When CEC Test is OK, "OK" is displayed at the right of "CEC/
Freq Test" of the service mode start screen.
When CEC Test is NG
"NG" is displayed at the right of "CEC/Freq Test" of the service
mode start screen.
5.
End the service mode. (Refer to clause 3-1-1. )
