METHOD  OF  DISASSEMBLING  THE  LCD  ASSY
METHOD  OF  INSTALLING  THERMAL  PRINTER  ASSY
When remove LCD assy, remove it like the arrow
 after removing button.

When installing thermal printer ASSY, incline thermal printer ASSY 
and pass the eject lever through the opening of bottom case ASSY, 
and set it like the arrow. 
In that case, please do not roll the FAN cable.

2. FIRMWARE  UPGRADE
Note:
Download the latest firmware from the ESI homepage.
2-1.
UPGRADE PROCEDURE
The update file is copied onto Memory Stick or Memory Stick Duo
and the upgrade of the firmware is done.
Please copy the update file onto the most significant hierarchy of
Memory Stick.
The file name of the update file becomes the upgrade file of the
model name and three version digits.
Example of file name
For version 1.01:  FP67v101.vup.
Procedure
1.
The power supply of the printer is turned on pushing the power
button while pushing the MENU button.
When the following printer initial screen appears, stopped to
push the MENU button and  power button.
2.
The MENU button is pushed on a printer initial screen.
The following firmware upgrading icon is displayed.
This icon is not displayed in usual power supply ON.
3.
The ENTER button is pushed.
4.
The confirmation screen where the up-grade of the firmware is
done is displayed, and the version of a present firmware is dis-
played.
The version of the firmware is displayed up to two digits be-
low 1.00 and small number of points.
5.
The orange frame is moved with an upper or lower button to
choose OK and the ENTER button is pushed.
6.
The screen becomes the insertion instruction screen of Memo-
ry Stick.
Insert Memory Stick that the update file enters to the card slot
of the printer.
7.
If there is a correct update file in Memory Stick. The screen
becomes the version of the firmware before and after the up-
date and the confirmation screen whether update it.

8.
The orange frame is moved with an upper or lower button to
choose OK and the ENTER button is pushed.
9.
The screen becomes updating display, and STANDBY LED
blinks.
Note:
Please do not turn off the power supply of the printer, and do
not pull out Memory Stick from the printer while STAND-
BY LED is blinking.
The previous firmware disappears, and the normal perfor-
mance of the printer and the firmware might not be able to
be updated.
10. When the update of the firmware ends, blinking STANDBY
LED ends, it turns off.
The screen becomes update end display. (The version after it
updates it is displayed.)
Turn off the power supply pushing the power button.
Note:
When there is no update file in the Memory Stick inserted
with "Procedure 6" or it is a version that is the same as the
firmware that already exists in the printer or former, it be-
comes the following error display.

CONFIRMATION AFTER FIRMWARE IS
UPDATED
Memory Stick that the update file enters is pulled out from the printer
and confirmed.
1.
Turn on the power supply pushing the power button.
2.
If a printer initial screen is displayed, the MENU button is
pushed. The following menu initial screen is displayed.
If nothing has been inserted in Memory Stick and the terminal
USB (A and B), a set icon has been selected with the orange
frame.
3.
Select a set icon and push the ENTER button.
The set menu screen is displayed.
Select a information display icon with an upper and lower, right
and left button, and push the ENTER button.
4.
The version number of the firmware of the printer is displayed,
and confirm it is an updated version, please.

3. ADJUSTMENT  AND  SETTING
3-1.
ADJUSTMENT  WHEN  MAIN  MOUNT  ASSY
OR  MECHANISM  EXCHANGED
When the mechanism exchange or MAIN MOUNT ASSY is ex-
changed, the following adjustment is needed.

1.
Procedure of the HD voltage adjustment
Note:
Download the file for the head adjustment from the ESI
homepage.
1.
It does with a top cover removed after mechanism or MAIN
MOUNT ASSY are exchanged. At this time, please confirm
the HD voltage adjustment value pasted to mechanism.
2.
Connect the AC adaptor with the printer and push the power
button.
Note:
Do not insert the memory card in the card slot of the printer.
Moreover, do not insert it in any terminal USB.
3.
Insert the USB memory that the file for the head adjustment
enters in the “PictBridge/EXT INTERFACE” terminal of the
printer. confirm that the fan of the printer rotates.
Note:
Make the MISC folder for the most significant hierarchy of
the USB memory, and copy the file (The file name:
SONYADJHD.MRK) for the head adjustment.
4.
Connect the circuit tester with the HD voltage measurement
pad, turn the HD voltage adjustment volume, and match it to
the HD voltage adjustment value.
Note:
Adjust to become a figure that has been described to the
label pasted to mechanism.
The adjustable range is description figure 
± 0.01V.
Pull out the power supply code, and make it to power supply
OFF when the HD adjustment of  voltage is completed.
5.
Confirm the function (LCD button) and externals applying a
top cover.
6.
Confirm the printing.
The paper tray that the ribbon and the print paper enter is
pushed, and connect the AC adaptor and push the power but-
ton.
Insert the USB memory that the file for the head adjustment
enters in the “PictBridge/EXT INTERFACE” terminal of the
printer.
The print starts automatically.
Confirm the printing result when the print ends.
        * When the printing result is abnormal.
Insert the USB memory that the file for the head adjust-
ment enters in the “PictBridge/EXT INTERFACE” termi-
nal of the printer and print automatically. Print with a nor-
mal printer in a similar way and compare the printing re-
sults.
