3. SERVICE  NOTE
3-1.  PRECAUTION ON REPLACING THE SY-1050 BOARD
The board for repair is not recorded the information unique to a model. Therefore the following data are needed to write. 
Note:   The “LOAD AND WRITE” function in “ADJUSTMENT DATA BACKUP” on the DATA tab in the Adjust Manual overwrites all data of the unit. 
Therefore execute the “LOAD AND WRITE” before performing the following operation.  
DESTINATION DATA
When you replace to a board for service, the written destination data of the board for service also might be changed to original setting.
USB SERIAL SAVE
When you replace to a board for service, get the data from the former one.
Start the Adjust Manual in the Adjust Station and perform “USB SERIAL SAVE” to get the data.
USB Serial No. and Product ID
The unit is shipped after an ID (USB Serial No.) unique to each unit and an ID (Product ID) unique to each model have been written.
These IDs have not been written in a new board for service, and therefore they must be entered after the board replacement.
After the board has been replaced with a board for service, start the Adjust Manual in the Adjust Station and execute the “PRODUCT ID & 
USB SERIAL No. INPUT” and enter these IDs.
Note: 
A newly entered Product ID is not always equal to the ID before board replacement. If the new ID differs from the previous ID, it may cause a difference 
from the ID registered by the customer.
Update of MAC Address
When replacing the SY board, the CPU’s unique number (MAC address) must be reloaded. Perform the following procedure to reload the 
CPU’s unique number (MAC address).
1.  Download the latest-version Adjust Manual.
2.  Install the downloaded Adjust Manual.
3.  Execute “Wireless LAN Setting (MAC Address)” on the ADJUST tab.
Password required for Wi-Fi connection
A password required for Wi-Fi connection is recorded in every SY board. A label to present the password to the customer is stuck to every SY 
board for service. When the SY board is replaced, attach this label to the unit to be sent back.
Note 1:  The new SSID and password can be checked on the PC connected to the unit with a USB cable.

Note 2:  When succeeding the data from the board before replacing to new board for repair by using The “LOAD AND WRITE” function of “ADJUSTMENT 
DATA BACKUP” in the DATA tab of Adjust Manual, perform following operations. The seal that is attached former board for repair is not needed. 
1.   Reset the unit.
2.  Download the WIFI_INF_CREATE.zip and generate “WIFI_INF.txt” file to the PMHOME folder of the unit by using the tool.

3-2.  NOTES FOR FLEXIBLE BOARD
Make sure that the conductive side of a flexible board does not have any stain or foreign materials.
Do not touch the conductive side of flexible boards with bare hands.
Plug in a flexible board straight, fully into the connector until it reaches the end inside. (Fig. 1, Fig. 2, Fig. 3)

When opening the connector's holder in direction A, do not open 
it with excessive force.
When closing the connector's holder, press it evenly while pushing 
a flexible board in direction B.

•  Make sure that the flat cable and flexible board are not cracked 
or bent at the contact end.
•  Do not apply excessive force to the gilded flexible board.
Cut and remove the part of gilt
which comes off at the point.
(Be careful or some
pieces of gilt may be left inside)
•  The proper way to disconnect a connector is to grab the con-
nector instead of the wires.  If you pull on the wires, they might 
be broken.
•  The proper way to connect a connector is to grab the connector 
instead of the wires.  If you push on the wires, they might be 
broken.

3-3.  CHECKING THE Wi-Fi FUNCTION
Perform the following procedure to check the Wi-Fi function.
Required equipment: Windows personal computer with Wi-Fi interface
1.  Turn on the power of the unit.
2.  Enable the Wi-Fi function of the unit.
3.  Check the SSID and password by following procedure.
Procedure 1:  Check the SSID label attached on the back side of the battery lid.
Procedure 2:  Connect the unit and a PC with the micro USB cable and turn the power on. Then select [Computer] → [PMHOME] → 
“WIFI_INF.TXT” of [INFO] on the PC.
4.  Confirm on the PC that the unit is detected as a connectable wireless network.
5.  To further confirm that the unit is connectable, connect the unit to the personal computer and double-click the “current connection” from 
the icon displayed on the notice field, make sure that the unit is displayed in the Wireless internet access column.

3-4.  ABOUT SPLASH-PROOF
The camera body has IPX4 splash-proof performance (based on our tests).
•  This camera is protected from water splashed from any direction. However, it is not protected against pressurized water such as from a shower 
or tap.
•  This camera is not splash-proof when a USB cable is connected.
•  Splash-proof performance may be lost if the camera is subjected to a strong shock, such as being dropped. 
•  Failure caused from incorrect use is not covered by the limited warranty.
–  Do not use the camera in water (the camera is not water-proof).
–  Firmly close the connector cover and battery pack/memory card cover. (If the cover is not fully closed, water may leak inside the camera. 
Do not open/close the cover when your hands are wet).
Parts in red frame are guaranteed about splash-proof.
When assembling the packing, do not put the dust and damage it.
