6-2. MECHANISM SECTION ADJUSTMENT
On the mechanism section adjustment
For detail of mechanism section adjustments, checks, and
replacement of mechanism parts, refer to the separate volume “DV
MECHANICAL ADJUSTMENT MANUAL IX  N Mechanism  ”.
Note: Before performing the adjustments, check the data of page: 0,
address: 10 is “00”. If not, set data: 00 to this address.

HOW TO ENTER RECORD MODE WITHOUT
CASSETTE
1)
Connect the adjustment remote commander to the LANC jack.
2)
Turn the HOLD switch of the adjustment remote commander
to the ON position.
3)
Close the cassette compartment without the cassette.
4)
Select page: 3, address: 01, and set data: 0C, and press the
PAUSE button of the adjustment remote commander.
(The mechanism enters the record mode automatically.)
Note: The function buttons becomes inoperable.
5)
To quit the record mode, select page: 3, address: 01, set data:
00, and press the PAUSE button of the adjustment remote
commander. (Whenever you want to quit the record mode, be
sure to quit following this procedure.)

HOW TO ENTER PLAYBACK MODE
WITHOUT CASSETTE
1)
Connect the adjustment remote commander to the LANC jack.
2)
Turn the HOLD switch of the adjustment remote commander
to the ON position.
3)
Close the cassette compartment without the cassette.
4)
Select page: 3, address: 01, and set data: 0B, and press the
PAUSE button of the adjustment remote commander.
(The mechanism enters the playback mode automatically.)
Note: The function buttons becomes inoperable.
5)
To quit the playback mode, select page: 3, address: 01, set data:
00, and press the PAUSE button of the adjustment remote
commander. (Whenever you want to quit the playback mode,
be sure to quit following this procedure.)
2-3.
TAPE PATH ADJUSTMENT
1. Preparation for Adjustment
1)
Clean the tape running side (tape guide, drum, capstan shaft,
pinch roller, etc.).
2)
Connect the adjustment remote commander to the A/V jack
via the multi-cable for service (J-6082-535-A).
3)
Turn the HOLD switch of the adjustment remote commander
to the ON position.
4)
Disconnect the microphone unit from CN8505 of CR-049
board.
5)
Connect an oscilloscope to CR-049 board CN8505 via the CPC
connecting jigs. (J-6082-521-A, J-6082-564-A)
Channel 1: CR-049 board, CN8505 Pin 8 (Note)
External trigger: CR-049 board, CN8505 Pin 7
Note: Connect a 75
 resistor between Pins 8 of CN8505 and 6
(GND).
6)
Playback the alignment tape for tracking. (XH2-1)
7)
Select page: 3, address: 33, and set data: 08.
8)
Select page: 3, address: 26, set data: 31, and press PAUSE
button.
9)
Check that the oscilloscope RF waveform is normal at the
entrance and exit.
If not normal, adjust according to the separate volume “DV
MECHANICAL ADJUSTMENT MANUAL IX
 N Mechanism ”.

Use the following measuring instruments for video section
adjustments.

Precautions on Adjusting
Note1: Before performing the adjustments, check the data of page: 0,
address: 10 is “00”. If not, set data: 00 to this address.
1)
The adjustments of this unit are performed in the VTR mode
(PLAY/EDIT mode) or camera mode (CAMERA-TAPE mode).
To set to the VTR mode, set the mode switch to “PLAY/EDIT”
or set the “Forced VTR Power ON mode” using the adjustment
remote commander (Note2).
To set to the camera mode, set the mode switch to “CAMERA-
TAPE” or set the “Forced Camera Power ON mode” using the
adjustment remote commander (Note3).
After completing adjustments, be sure to exit the “Forced VTR
Power ON Mode” or “Forced Camera Power ON Mode”.

2)
Connect the adjustment remote commander to the A/V jack
via the multi-cable for service (J-6082-535-A).
3)
The microphone unit need not be connected. To remove it,
disconnect the following connector.
CR-049 board CN8505 (8P, 0.5mm)
4)
The intelligent accessory shoe need not be connected. To
remove it, disconnect the following connector.
CR-049 board CN8507 (12P, 0.5mm)
5)
The cabinet (R) block (LCD panel, touch panel, PD-239 board)
need not be connected. (Use the adjustment remote commander,
to operate the VTR block.) To remove it, disconnect the
following connectors.
VC-379 board CN1013 (27P, 0.3mm)
VC-379 board CN1012 (11P, 0.3mm)

By setting the “Forced VTR Power ON mode”, the VTR section
can be operate even if the control switch block (PS11300) has
been removed. When removing it, disconnect the following
connector
FB-223 board CN8002 (13P, 0.3mm)
7)
The FB-223 board need not be connected. But removing this
board (removing the VC-379 board CN1008) means removing
the lithium 3V power supply (FB-223 board, BT8001), data
such as date, time, user-set menus will be lost. After completing
adjustments, reset these data.
But, the self-diagnosis data and the data on history of use (total
drum rotation time etc.) will be kept even if the FB-223 board
has been removed. (Refer to “6-4.Service Mode” for the data
on the history use and the self-diagnosis data.)
To remove the FB-223 board, disconnect the following
connector.
VC-379 board CN1008 (31P, 0.3mm)

The eject switch need not be connected. (Except when ejecting
the cassette.) To remove it, disconnect the following connector.
FB-223 board CN8004 (6P, 0.5mm)
9)
The lens barrier block need not be connected. To remove it,
disconnect the following connector.
FB-223 board CN8001 (8P, 0.5mm)
10) The battery terminal need not be connected. To remove it,
disconnect the following connector.
VC-379 board CN1010 (14P, 0.5mm)
11) The memory stick DUO connector need not be connected. To
remove it, disconnect the following connector.
VC-379 board CN1010 (11P, 0.3mm)
12) The lens block (need not be connected. To remove it, disconnect
the following connectors.
VC-379 board CN1001 (25P, 0.3mm)
VC-379 board CN1004 (30P, 0.2mm)
Note2: Setting the “Forced VTR Power ON” mode (PLAY/EDIT mode)
1) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
2) Select page: A, address: 10, set data: 02, and press the PAUSE
button of the adjustment remote commander.
The above procedure will enable the VTR power to be turned on
with the control switch block (PS11300) removed.
After completing adjustments, be sure to exit the “Forced Power
ON mode”.
Note3: Setting the “Forced Camera Power ON” mode (CAMERA-TAPE
mode)
1) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
2) Select page: A, address: 10, set data: 01, and press the PAUSE
button of the adjustment remote commander.
The above procedure will enable the camera power to be turned
on with the control switch block (PS11300) removed.
After completing adjustments, be sure to exit the “Forced Power
ON mode”.
Note4: Setting the “Forced Memory Power ON” mode (CAMERA-
MEMORY mode)
1) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
2) Select page: A, address: 10, set data: 05, and press the PAUSE
button of the adjustment remote commander.
The above procedure will enable the memory power to be turned
on with the control switch block (PS11300) removed.
After completing adjustments, be sure to exit the “Forced Power
ON mode”.
Note5: Exiting the “Forced Power ON” mode
1) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
2) Select page: A, address: 10, set data: 00, and press the PAUSE
button of the adjustment remote commander.
