6. Optical Axis Adjustment
Correct a deviation of optical axis between the lens and the CCD
imager.
If deviated, the screen center will be shifted when the lens is
zoomed from TELE end to WIDE end.

1) POWER ......................................................... CAMERA mode
2) DIGITAL ZOOM (Menu setting) .................................... OFF
3) STEADYSHOT (Menu setting) ...................................... OFF
Preparation for adjustment:
1) Play a monoscope portion of the System Check tape (XH5-5
(NTSC) or XH5-5P (PAL)).
2) Stick the optical axis deviation specification frame to the moni-
tor screen so that the center of monoscope coincides with the
center of specification frame.
3) Select the CAMERA mode.
Adjusting method:
1) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
2) Select page: 6, address: 48, and set data: 01.
3) Select page: F, addresses: 5B and 5C, and set data: 00, and
then press the PAUSE (Write) button on the adjusting remote
commander.
4) Place the Clear Chart attached with a dot of diameter 9.0 
± 1.5
mm at 2 m position away from the lens.
5) Shoot the dot with the zoom at TELE end.
6) Change the lens direction so that the center of dot coincides
with the center of optical axis deviation specification frame.
7) Shoot the dot with the zoom at WIDE end.
8) Check on the monitor TV which area of optical axis deviation
specification frame the dot exists in. (Detect the deviation di-
rection from the center of screen.)
9) Select page: F, addresses: 5B and 5C, and write data corre-
sponding to the detected deviation direction as mentioned be-
low.
• If the deviation amount falls within a circle of which diameter
is 5.5% of the vertical view angle, the deviation amount is as-
sumed to be less, and write data: 00.
