Random  Playback

1.　 Press  [RANDOM]  while  a  disc  is  playing.
　 　 “Random”  will  appear  on  the  LCD  screen  when  Random 
          Play  has  begun.

2.　 Press  [RANDOM]  again  to  return  to  normal  Play  Mode.

During  Random  Play  Mode,  press  [            ]  button  twice 
or  press  [            ]  button  once  to  jump  to  another  track 
randomly  and  continue  play.

The  same  track  may  be  repeated  several  times  in 
Random  Play  Mode.

Random  playback  is  possible  with  VCD  Discs  only  when 
PBC  is  Off.

CD
Track:  The  current  track  will  be  repeated.
All:  All  tracks  on  a  disc  will  be  repeated.
Off:  Return  to  normal  Play  Mode.

VCD(PBC  Off  only)
Track:  Repeat  the  current  track
All:  Repeat  all  the  tracks  on  a  disc
Off:  Return  to  normal  playback  (No  display)

DivX
Repeat  One:  Repeat  the  current  file
Repeat  Folder:  Repeat  all  the  files  in  the  current  folder

Press  [REPEAT]  button  while  a  disc  is  in  play.

repeat  mode.

This  device  can  also  play  MP3  (MPEG1  Audio  Layer  3)  or 
JPEG  files  recorded  on  data  CD(CD-ROM/CD-R/CD-RW)
and  DVD  (DVD+RW/DVD+R/DVD-RW/DVD-R).  However, 
this  device  can  only  play  data  discs  recorded  on  the 
IS09660  Joliet  base.  For  more  details  on  recording  formats, 
refer  to  the  disc  drive  or  copying  software  manual.

1.　 Put  disc  into  the  player  and  close  the  disc  lid.  When  the 
          information  in  the  disc  has  been  read,  the  file  menu  will 
          appear  on  the  LCD  screen.

2.　 Press  [        /        ]  to  select  a  folder,  and  press  [ENTER]  to  confirm.
          A  list  of  files  in  the  folder  will  be  displayed.To  return  to  the 
          previous  folde  list  from  the  current  file  list  screen,  use  [        /        ] 
          button  to  select                and  press  [ENTER]  to  confirm.

3.　 To  display  a  file,  press  [        /        ]  to  select,  then  press 
          [ENTER]  or  [PLAY].

4.　 To  return  to  the  previous  file  or  move  to  the  next  when 
          files  are  displayed  on  the  screen,  press  [PREV/NEXT] 
          (            or            )  once.

5.　 Press  [STOP]  to  display  the  file  list  when  files  are 
          displayed  on  the  screen.

The  size  or  number  of  JPEG  files  recorded  on  a  disc  may 
require  time  to  read.
If  images  do  not  appear  after  a  few  minutes,  some  files 
may  be  too  big  to  read.
It  is  recommended  that  JPEG  files  to  be  displayed  have 
a  resolution  of  6M  pixels  or  under.  (Progressive  JPEG 
files  are  recommended  to  be  under  2.4  M  pixels.)

JPEG  files  with  filenames  ending  in  an  “  .jpg  ”  extension.

The  total  number  of  files  on  a  readable  disc  is 
approximately  299.

For  files  with  “.jpe  ”  or  “.jpeg  ”  extension,  please  change 
the  extention  to  “.jpg  ”.

This  player  doesn’t  support  files  in  the  KODAK  ERI  JPEG 
format.

Depending  on  the  copying  conditions  of  the  disc,  the  total 
number  of  readable  files  and  folders  may  be  less  than  648.

Physical  format  is  discs  recorded  in  accordance  with 
Joliet  ISO9660.

The  total  number  of  readable  files  and  folders  is 
approximately  648.

The  following  types  of  JPEG  files  can  be  played  on 
this  device.

Depending  on  the  disc,  filename  characters  that  cannot 
be  displayed  are  shown  as  *.

This  option  may  not  be  available  on  all  VCD.  If  you 
want  to  skip  the  index  menu  and  playback  directly 
from  the  beginning,  go  to  SET  UP  Menu  and  General 
setup  item  to  switch  PBC  Off.

Press  [  DISPLAY  ]  during  VCD  playback.  Track 
number/Track  total  number,  Track  elapsed  time 
will  display  on  the  screen  from  left  to  right.

Press  [  AUDIO  ]  repeatedly  during  VCD  playback  to 
switch  among  stereo,  left  or  right  in  order.

Operation  varies  for  different  Video  CD. 
For  further  information,  refer  to  the  instructions 
provided  with  your  Video  CD  disc.

If  no  operations  are  executed  within  10  seconds 
after  the  PBC  menu  is  displayed,  the  unit  will  start 
playing  from  the  beginning  of  the  first  track.

The  Repeat  and  Random  functions  are  allowed  only  when 
PBC  is  Off.

PBC  (Playback  Control)  function  makes  it  possible 
to  play  Video  CDs  interactively  according  to  the 
menu  on  the  LCD  screen.
1.  The  Menu  appears  immediately  when  a  Video 
        CD  with  the  PBC  function  starts  playing.
2.  Press  the  number  buttons  to  select  the  desired 
        item.
3.  Perform  interactive  operations  according  to  the 
        instructions  provided  in  the  menu.

To  rent  (purchase)  DivX  ®  VOD  files
DivX  VOD  files  are  downloaded  from  certain  commercial 
websites  after  paying  a  rental  fee  .  Prior  to  downloading  a 
VOD  you  need  to  input  the  registration  number  of  your  DVD 
player  on  the  purchase  form  on  the  site.
Follow  the  instructions  below  to  find  the  registration 
number  of  your  player:  insert  a  disc  and  select  the  option 
DivX  from  the  General  Setup  menu.  Write  down  the  VOD 
8-character  registration  number  so  that  you  can  fill  in  the 
form  on  the  website  you  purchase  your  DivX  VOD  files  from.

Note: 
If  you  cannot  play  a  DivX  VOD  file  recorded  on  a  disc  after 
downloading  it,  it  is  possible  that  the  recorded  file  is  not 
compatible  with  your  player  because  of  different  versions 
or  incorrect  download  parameters.  The  parameters  used 
when  copying  to  disc  may  be  another  reason  for  this. 
Since  it  is  not  possible  here  to  supply  all  the  information, 
parameters  and  advice  relating  to  the  issue  of  DivX  VOD 
files,  we  recommend  that  you  visit  specialist  websites  such 
as  www.divx.com/vod.

The  player  can  play  data  that  is  recorded  in  DivX  format, 
and  which  has  the  extension  “.avi”  or  “.divx”.  The  player 
will  not  play  files  with  the  extension  “.avi”  or  “.divx”  if  they 
do  not  contain  a  DivX  video.

This  player  only  plays  DATA  CD  whose  logical  format  is 
ISO  9660  Joliet,  and  DATA  DVD  of  Universal  Disc 
Format  (UDF). 
Refer  to  the  instructions  supplied  with  the  disc  drives  and 
the  recording  software  (not  included)  for  details  on  the 
recording  format.

Note  that  the  playback  order  may  not  be  applicable, 
depending  on  the  software  used  for  creating  the  DivX 
video  file,  or  if  there  are  more  than  299  folders  and  648 
DivX  video  files  in  each  folder.

The  player  may  not  be  able  to  play  some  DATA  CD/DATA 
DVD  created  in  the  Packet  Write  format.

Discs  recorded  in  multiple  sessions  may  not  play  properly 
on  this  device.

Maximum  filename  length  is  14  characters.

Depending  on  the  DivX  video  file,  the  picture  may  pause 
or  be  unclear.  In  which  case,  it  is  recommended  that  you 
create  the  file  at  a  lower  bit  rate.  If  the  sound  is  still  noisy, 
MP3  is  the  recommended  audio  format.  Note,  however, 
that  this  player  does  not  conform  to  WMA  (Windows  Media 
Audio)  format.

Because  of  the  compression  technology  used  for  DivX 
video  files,  it  may  take  some  time  after  you  press  [  PLAY  ] 
for  the  picture  to  appear.

Depending  on  the  DivX  video  file,  the  sound  may  not 
match  the  pictures  on  the  screen.

The  player  may  not  be  able  to  play  a  DivX  video  file  that 
has  been  combined  from  two  or  more  DivX  video  files.

Depending  on  the  DivX  video  file,  the  sound  may  skip.

The  player  cannot  play  a  DivX  video  file  of  size  more  than 
720  (width)  x  576  (height)/2  GB.

The  player  cannot  play  some  DivX  video  files  that  are 
longer  than  3  hours.

This  unit  does  not  support  DTS  sound  system.  If  you 
select  DTS  sound,  there  will  be  no  sound  output.

When  the  selected  file  is  not  supported  (Codec/Sound 
system),  “Data  Error  (DivX)”  displays  on  the  LCD  screen 
and  the  file  will  not  be  played.

video.  Therefore,  the  DVD  video  play  image  may  not  be 
compatible  with  the  selected  image  size.

is  used  it  automatically  becomes  a  widescreen  display,
