SECTION  4
TEST  MODE
COLD  RESET
The cold reset clears all data including preset data stored in the
RAM to initial conditions. Execute this mode when returning the
set to the customers after repair.
Procedure:
1. Press the  
1
  button to turn the power on for five seconds.
2. Press or touch three buttons of  
 1 
 ,  
t
  and  
x
  simultaneously.
3. The message “COLD RESET“ is displayed on the fluorescent
indicator tube.
SHIP  MODE
This mode moves the DVD block to proper position for shipment.
Procedure:
1. Press the  
1
  button to turn the power on for five seconds.
2. Touch the  
t
  button to select the “DVD”.
3. Make sure that the disc is removed from the system.
4. Touch or press two buttons  
x
  and  
1
  simultaneously.
5. The message “MECHA LOCK” is displayed on the fluorescent
indicator tube and the ship mode is set.
PANEL  TEST  MODE
This mode is used to check the fluorescent indicator tube, LED,
model, destination, software version and key.
Procedure:
1. Press the  
1
  button to turn the power on for five seconds.
2. Press or touch three buttons of  
1
 , [PROG ---] and  
x
  simultaneously.
3. All LEDs and segments on the fluorescent indicator tube are
lighted up.
4. When you want to enter the software version display mode,
touch the  2 – . The model name “AI TAV” is displayed on
the fluorescent indicator tube.
5. Each time  2 –  is touched, the display changes from destination,
MC version, SUB version, SYS version, SYS2 version, UI
version, DVD version, ST version, TA version, DSP version,
TV version,  LIFT version in this order, and returns to the
model name “AI TAV” display.
6. When  2 +   button is touched while the version numbers are
being displayed except model name and destination, the date
of the software creation appear. When  2 +   button is touched
again, the display returns to the software version display. When
2  –  is pressed while the date of the software creation is
being displayed, the date of the software creation is displayed
in the same order of software version display.
7. Touch the  
H
  button, the key check mode is activated.
8. In the key check mode, the fluorescent indicator tube displays
“K 0”. Each time a button is pressed or touched, “K 0” value
increases. However, once a button has been pressed, it is no
longer taken into account.
9. To release from this mode, press or touch three buttons in the
same manner as step 2 or disconnect the power cord.
PRODUCT  OUT
This mode moves the DVD block to proper position for shipment
and clears all data including preset data stored in the RAM to initial
conditions. Execute this mode when returning the set to the
customers after repair.
Procedure:
1. Press the  
1
  button to turn the power on for five seconds.
2. Touch the  
t
  button to select the “DVD”.
3. Make sure that the disc is removed from the system.
4. Touch or press three buttons  2 – ,  
Z
  and  
1
  simultaneously.
5. The message “MECHA LOCK” is displayed on the fluorescent
indicator tube and the ship mode is set.
6. Disconnect the power cord to turn the AC power off.
7. Connect the power cord and press the  
1
  button to turn the
power on for five seconds.
8. Press the [AMP MENU] button on the remote commander, then
select the “Lift Mode” and enter the lift mode.
9. Select the “Lock” and set the lift mode to lock.
10. Disconnect the power cord to turn the AC power off.
COMMON  TEST
This mode is used to check operation of amplifier.
Procedure:
1. Press the  
1
  button to turn the power on for five seconds.
2. Touch and press three buttons of  
x
  ,  2  –  and  
1
simultaneously.
3. In the common test, touch the  2  –  button, the message
“VOLUME MIN” is displayed on the fluorescent indicator
tube momentarily and touch the  2 +  button, the message
“VOLUME MAX” is displayed on the fluorescent indicator
tube momentarily.
4. Press the

button to release from this mode
DSP  SRAM  CHECK
This mode is used to check connection of S-RAM. Execute with an
analog audio input state this mode.
Procedure:
1. Press the  
1
  button to turn the power on for five seconds.
2. Touch three buttons of  
x
 ,  
t
  and [PROG +] simultaneously.
3. The message “RAM OK” (IC506 on the MAIN board is
normal) or “RAM NG” (IC506 on the MAIN board is
abnormal) is displayed on the fluorescent indicator tube.
Note:
 When state is not analog audio input, the message “CANT EXEC” is
displayed on the fluorescent indicator tube.
TRAY  LOCK  MODE
This mode let you lock the disc slot. When this mode is activated,
the disc tray will not open when
Z
button is touched. The message
“LOCKED” is displayed on the fluorescent indicator tube.
Procedure:
1. Press the  
1
  button to turn the power on for five seconds.
2. Press the  
t
  button to select the “DVD”.
3. Touch two buttons of  
x
  and  
Z
  simultaneously and hold
down until “LOCKED” is displayed on the fluorescent
indicator tube (around 5 seconds).
4. To  release from this mode, touch two buttons in the same
manner as step 3.
Note:
 Even when power supply is turned off, this mode isn’t released.

DVD  SECTION
1. DVD  SERVICE  MODE  GENERAL  DESCRIPTION
This mode let you make diagnosis and adjustment easily by using
the remote commander (RM-ANU005). The instructions, diagnostic
results, etc. are given on the on-screen display.
2. ENTERING  DVD  SERVICE  MODE
Procedure:
1. Press the

  button to turn the power on for five seconds.
2. Touch the

  button to select the “DVD”.
3. Touch three buttons

simultaneously.
4. The message “SERVICE IN” appears on the fluorescent
indicator tube and top menu of the Remocon Diagnosis Menu
appears on the on-screen display on the LCD screen as follows.
The model name, IF-con version and Syscon version are
displayed at the bottom of the on-screen display.

4. CHECKING  EMERGENCY  HISTORY
To  check the emergency history, please follow the following
procedure.
Procedure:
1. From the top menu of Remocon Diagnosis Menu, select “3.
Emergency History” by pressing the [3] button on the remote
commander. The following screen appears on the on-screen
display.

2. You can check the total time when the laser is turned on during
playback of DVD and CD from the above menu. The maximum
time, which can be displayed are 999h 59min.
3. You can check the error code of latest 10 emergency history
from the above menu. To view the previous or next page of
emergency history, press the

remote commander.  The error code consists of three kinds of
error codes.

In order to execute IOP measurement, the following standard
procedures must be followed.

remote commander. The following screen appears on the on-
screen display
