SPECIAL  MENU  MODE
Procedure:
1.  Press the [POWER] button to turn on the main power, then while pressing the [TONE MODE] button, press the [A.F.D.], [2CH/A. 
DIRECT], [MUSIC], [MOVIE (HD-D.C.S.)] button in order, the message “SPECIALIZE” appears.
2.  Press the [M] [m] button on the remote commander, the message “< SPECIAL>” appears.
3.  Press the [,] button on the remote commander, the item is appears.
4.  Each time the [M] [m] button on the remote commander is pressed, the item is switched in order as follows.
 
Some items can change the content. Display the cursor by pressing the [,] button on the remote commander, and changing the content 
by pressing the [M] [m] button on the remote commander, and fi x the content by pressing the [<] button on the remote commander 
when you want to change the content of the item.
5.  To release from this mode, while pressing the [TONE MODE] button, press the [A.F.D.], [2CH/A. DIRECT], [MUSIC], [MOVIE (HD-
D.C.S.)] button in order again, the message “OFF” appears.

1.  “DVD” is selected by using [INPUT SELECTOR] jog.
2.  Connect a color pattern generator to the COMPONENT VIDEO COMPO 
2 IN jack (J6001) and DVD VIDEO IN jack (J6004) on the VIDEO board.
3.  Input 100% color bars signal from the color pattern generator.
4. Menu that measures individual difference of hardness by automatic op-
eration in pressing the [ENTER] button of the remote commander, and 
corrects reference value.
  In a measurement once, only one of NTSC/PAL/HD can be measured

Procedure:
1.  Connect a digital voltmeter to the CN6102 (CN6104).
2.  Press the [POWER] button to turn on the main power.
3.  Adjust the RV400 (RV470, RV500, RV570, RV600, RV670, 
RV700) so that the digital voltmeter reading is 5 mV to 20 mV.

VIDEO  CALIBRATION  ADJUSTMENT
Adjustment to decide the standard of the video input signal.
Note: After replacing DIGITAL VIDEO board, or after “SUPER RESET” 
of the special menu mode is executed, perform this adjustment.
1. Adjustment jig
The color pattern generator that can output 100% in NTSC/PAL/
HD color bar signal to the component and the composite at the 
same time is necessary for the adjustment.
When there is no color pattern generator, it is possible to substitute 
it by the Blu-ray Disc player that can output the component termi-
nal and the video terminal at the same time (Substitution model 
name example: BDP-S350).
However, please do the following signal output confi rmation with 
the oscilloscope beforehand when substituting it with the Blu-ray 
Disc player.

2-2.  Procedure for color pattern generator
1.  It connects of step 2-1, and the turn on the main power.
2.  “DVD” is selected by using [INPUT SELECTOR] dial.
3.  Input NTSC color bars signal from the color pattern generator.
4.  Press the [POWER] button to turn off the main power.
5.  While pressing the [2CH/A.DIRECT] and [SPEAKERS (OFF/
A/B/A+B)] buttons, press the [POWER] button to turn on the 
main power. When correctly entering the test mode “V.CAL 
COMPLETE N:P:H” is displayed (keeps pressing two buttons 
until the message appears).
6.  The NTSC signal adjustment is begun when press the cross 
(center of cursor) button of remote commander, and the dis-
play changes from “NTSC:MW -----” to “NTSC:MW OK C S 
V E” little by little. Finally, the display returns to the display of 
“V.CAL COMPLETE N:P:H”.
7.  Input PAL color bars signal from the color pattern generator.
8.  Perform step 6 to 7 for the PAL signal adjustment.
9.  Input HD color bars signal (720p or 1080i) from the color pat-
tern generator.
10. Perform step 6 to 7 for the HD signal adjustment.
11.  The turn off the main power.
