TEST MODE
1. How to Enter the Test Mode
1. Set the SHUTTLE switch in the HOLD position.
2. While keeping pressing the  Nx    button in the HOLD
position, press the  RESET  switch.
3. Then the characters “PREPARING …” is displayed
momentarily, and then the following indication is displayed
on screen.
2. Key Check Mode
1. While the machine is in the TEST mode, set the SHUTTLE
switch to the normal mode (i.e., in the center position)
2. When the  Nx  button is pressed, the following indication is
displayed on the screen.
Check all keys
3. Whenever the  SEARCH/MENU  button is pressed, the
indication toggles between the following two indications as
shown below.
FM [P —] 108.00 MHz
STANDBY
m
FM [P —] 78.50 MHz
STANDBY
4. When the  DISP/FUNC  button is pressed, the following
indication is displayed on the screen.
TUNER OFF
5. When the  VOL+  button is pressed, the following indication
is displayed on the screen.
Beep: ON
6. When the  VOL–  button is pressed, the following indication
is displayed on the screen.
Beep: OFF
7. When the  REPEAT/SOUND  button is pressed, the following
indication is displayed on the screen.
Initialized
8. Whenever the SHUTTLE switch is rotated in the direction of
>+  , the indication toggles between the following two
indications as shown below.
Charge Mode 100 mA

Charge Mode 500 mA
9. Whenever the SHUTTLE switch is rotated in the direction of
.–  , the indication toggles between the following two
indications as shown below.
Charge ON

Charge OFF

3. Display Check Mode
1. While the machine is in the TEST mode, set the SHUTTLE
switch to the ALBUM position.
2. The entire screen shows the checkered pattern and the machine
enters the display check mode.
3. When the SHUTTLE switch is rotated in the direction of
>+  , all indicators are turned ON.
4. When the  SEARCH/MENU  button is pressed, amount of
brightness of all indications is reduced to the dim state.
[Check mode in the dim state]
* When the  DISP/FUNC   button is pressed in the dim state,
amount of brightness of all indicators returns to the full
brightness.
* When either button of  Nx  button or the VOL+  button
or the  VOL–  button is pressed in the dim state, amount
of brightness of all indicators returns to the full brightness
for 9 seconds and then returns back to the dim state.
5. When the SHUTTLE switch is rotated in the direction of the
.–  , all indicators are turned OFF.
6. When the SHUTTLE switch is set to the normal mode (i.e., in
the center position), the following indication displayed on the
screen and the machine enters the key check mode.
GROUP_KEY OFF
4. How to Exit the Test Mode
Press the  RESET  switch in any state to exit the test mode.
