SERVICING  NOTES
ABOUT  THE  BOARDS  REPLACING
When the boards installed in this unit are defective, exchange the 
complete mounted board.
However the headphone jack (J301) on the MAIN board is ex-
changeable. Refer to “4. EXPLODED VIEWS” (page 17).
ABOUT  THE  HANDLING  OF  THE  BATTERY  ASSY 
(BAT1)
When the battery assy (BAT1) is removed, insulate the end of wire 
by a tape etc. to prevent short-circuited of the wire part of battery 
assy (BAT1).

ABOUT  THE  DESTINATION  SETTING  WHEN  REPLAC-
ING  THE  MAIN  BOARD
When the MAIN board of this unit is replaced, perform processing 
according to the following procedure.
Precaution
The contents which are not opened to customers are included 
in the following procedure. After you are cautious of handling of 
information, execute work under the suffi cient administration.
1.  About the preparing of tools
Download the tools used by this work from the homepage of TISS. 
When the tools cannot be confi rmed by TISS, confi rm to the ser-
vice headquarters.
2. Setting method
Note: The destination setting is impossible when battery voltage is not 
enough.
 
  Fully charge the battery in advance.
Procedure:

A SoundBlaster compatible card is recommended.
 USB port
A compatible USB port is required to use devices and media.
Operation via a USB hub is not guaranteed except for models for which 
operation has been specifically guaranteed.
 Disk drive
A CD-ROM drive is required. To create a music CD, you need a CD-R/RW 
drive.

2. Confi rm that “Connecting” is displayed on the screen of this 
unit.

3.  Unzip the model setting fi le to get folder on PC.
4.  Open the unzipped folder and choose the folder which suits the

5.  Copy the “DEVINFO.UPG” fi le included in the folder selected 
at step 4 to this unit.
6. Confi rm that orange blink of the access indicator has fi nished, 
and remove the USB cable from this unit and PC.
7.  “Updating···” is displayed on the screen of this unit, and this 
unit is rebooted automatically.
8.  The destination setting is completed.
3. Confi rmation method
Procedure:
1.  Slide the [POWER] switch to turn the power on.
