ABOUT  THE  FIRMWARE  WRITING  WHEN  REPLAC-
ING  THE  SYSTEM  BOARD
When the SYSTEM board is replaced, perform processing accord-
ing to the following procedure.

Precaution
The contents which are not opened to customers are included 
in the following procedure. After you are cautious of handling of 
information, execute work under the suffi cient administration.

1.  About the preparing of tools
Download the tools used by this work from the homepage of TISS. 
When the tools cannot be confi rmed by TISS, confi rm to the ser-
vice headquarters.

Note 1: This work is impossible when battery voltage is not enough.
 

    Do work using the battery with suffi cient battery level.

Procedure:
1.  Equip IC recorder with battery.
2.  Connect PC and IC recorder with the USB cable.

3.  Unzip the all fi rmware writing tools on PC.
4.  Choose the folder corresponding to the repaired IC recorder  

from the unzipped folders on PC. (Refer to following table)

5.  Open the “fwup” folder in selected folder at step 4 on PC, and 

execute “SXnewRegionChg.js”.

6. Confi rm that “Browse For Folder” is displayed on PC, and se-

lect the root folder of IC recorder connected by USB.

 (In 

following 

fi gure, IC recorder is recognized as “IC RE-

CORDER (F:)”)

7.  Click “OK” button on PC.

8. Confi rm that the screen of IC recorder disappears for a moment 

and IC recorder reboots.

2: IC recorder is not turned off by any means until IC recorder 

reboots.

9. Confi rm that “Region write fi nished!” is displayed on PC, and 

click “OK” button.

10. Open the “fwup” folder in selected folder at step 4 on PC, and 

execute “SXnew_Updater.js”.

11. Confi rm that “Browse For Folder” is displayed on PC, and se-

lect the root folder of IC recorder connected by USB.

fi gure, IC recorder is recognized as “IC RE-

CORDER (F:)”)

12. Click “OK” button on PC.

13. Confi rm that the screen of IC recorder disappears for a moment 

and IC recorder reboots.

4: IC recorder is not turned off by any means until IC recorder 

reboots.

14. Confi rm that “FW update fi nished!” is displayed on PC, and 

click “OK” button.

15. Disconnect the USB cable from PC and IC recorder.
16. Remove battery from IC recorder, and fi rmware writing is 

completed.

3. Confi rmation method
Procedure:
1.  Equip IC recorder with battery, and the power supply of IC 

recorder is automatically turned on.

2.  Press the [

x

/STOP] button, and IC recorder will be in halt con-

dition.

3.  While pressing the [T-MARK] and [VOL –] buttons, slide the 

[NOISE CUT] switch three times.

 

Note: The direction (ON or OFF) to slide is not related.

4. Confi rm that the test mode menu is displayed, and release the 

[T-MARK] and [VOL –] buttons.

5.  Select “Version” by pressing the [

v

] or [

V

] button, and press 

the [

N

/ENT] button.

6. Confi rm that the fi rmware versin and destination setting has 

been changed.

7.  Press the [

x

/STOP] button, and return to the test mode menu.

8.  Select “FactoryShip” by pressing the [

v

] or [

V

] button, and 

press the [

N

/ENT] button.

9. Confi rm that the following screen is displayed, and press the 

[

N

/ENT] button.

10. IC recorder reboots automatically.
11. Remove battery from IC recorder, and confi rmation is com-

pleted.

Checking the version allows you to jump to the revised page.
Also, clicking the version at the top of the revised page allows you to jump to the next revised page.
