SECTION  3
TEST  MODE
1.  SETTING  THE  TEST  MODE
Note: Test mode is impossible when battery voltage is not enough.
 
  Do work using the battery with suffi cient battery level.
Setting method:
1.  Equip this unit with battery.
2.  Slide the [HOLD•POWER ON/OFF] switch in the direction of 
“POWER ON/OFF” until the window display appears.
3.  Slide the [HOLD•POWER ON/OFF] switch towards the cen-
ter.
4. While pressing the [
x
] and [VOL –] keys, slide the 
[HOLD•POWER ON/OFF] switch in the direction of “HOLD”.

5.  The test mode menu is displayed, and enter the test mode. Re-
lease the [
x
] and [VOL –] keys.

4.  OPERATION  OF  THE  TEST  MODE
4-1. Main menu
Destination,  fi rmware version and memory capacity can be con-
fi rmed.
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test mode.
 
(Refer to “SETTING THE TEST MODE”)
2. Destination, fi rmware version and memory capacity are dis-
played on LCD display.

: Volume up

[ DISPLAY/ MENU]  : ALC on/off change (default: off)
The settings of volume, microphone sensitivity and ALC on/off 
changed in this mode becomes effective also the modes other than 
“4-2. LCD” and “4-4. AUDIO”.

4-2. LCD
The lighting check of LCD can be performed.
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test mode.
 
(Refer to “SETTING THE TEST MODE” on page 9)
2.  Press the [

] keys to select the “LCD”, and press 
the [

] key.
3.  LCD display pattern is displayed as shown in the following 
fi gure.

Beep sound (1.3 kHz) can be outputted.
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test mode.

the [ENTER/

] key.
3.  Beep sound (1.3 kHz) is outputted.

on operation of this unit.

4-4. AUDIO
Audio loop back operation can be performed.
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test mode.

2.  Press the [

] keys to select the “AUDIO”, and 
press the [ENTER/

] key.
3.  Audio loop back operation is performed.

Note: When mode is active, the recording level for VOR is acquired at in-
tervals of 1 second, and it is displayed. When the acquired recording 
level is larger than the VOR setting value, the operation indicator 
LED redly lights up.
 
(Threshold value is based on operation of this unit)

4-5. BATAD
A/D value (voltage value and temperature value) acquisition can 
be performed.
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test mode.
 
(Refer to “SETTING THE TEST MODE” on page 9)
2. Press the [

] keys to select the “BATAD”, and 
press the [ENTER/
N
] key.
3.  A/D value (voltage value and temperature value) are acquired, 
and they are displayed by hexadecimal number.

4-6. RTC
The self-test of RTC module can be done.
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test mode.

] key.
3.  The self-test of RTC module is executed, and result is dis-
played.

4-7. BATT LIFE
Not used for the servicing.
4-8. SLEEP
It can change into the sleep state for standby current value mea-
surement.
Note: It cannot move to other modes from this mode.
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test mode.

2.  Press the [

] keys to select the “SLEEP”, and press 
the [ENTER/

] key.
3.  The sleep mode selection screen is displayed.

Procedure:

3.  The state of VBUS_XDET is displayed.

4-10. COUNT
The count value of the keys and switches operation can be dis-
played. However, distinction of kind of the keys and switches 
which operated is not performed.
Note: It cannot move to other modes from this mode.
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test mode.

2.  Press the [

] keys to select the “COUNT”, and 
press the [ENTER/

] key.
3.  The count value of the keys and switches operation is dis-
played.

Count value increase conditions:
 
One of buttons is pushed.
 
One of switches is slid.
 
Headphone or microphone is inserted.
 
When it counts up in the state of “9999”, it return to “0000”. 
Releasing method:
Remove battery.
4-11. VERSION
IPL version, Writer version and eMMC driver version can be con-
fi rmed.
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test mode.

2. Press

] keys to select the “VERSION”, and 
press the [ENTER/

] key.
3.  Each versions are displayed as shown in the following fi gure.
