2-17.  WS Test Mode
The subwoofer (SA-WCT550W) version information can be 
checked.
Note : More than one item may appear, but only “VER. CHECK” is used 
during maintenance.
Preparation:
•  Prepare the remote commander of the attachment for this unit.
 Remote 
commander:
 
RM-AAU113 (US and Canadian models)
 
RM-AAU114 (AEP and UK models)
•  Refer to the “COMPLETING SETTINGS FOR THE WIRE-
LESS SOUND SYSTEM” section on page 3 to activate wire-
less transmission for the receiver (STR-CT550WT: main unit) 
and subwoofer (SA-WCT550W).
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2.  Press the [VOLUME +]/[VOLUME –] buttons to select the 
“WS TEST”, and press the [INPUT SELECTOR] button. 
3.  The message “QUALITY” appears on the fl uorescent indica-
tor tube.
4. Press the [
m
] button on the remote commander, select “VER.
CHCK”, and press the [
,
] button on the remote commander.
5.  The subwoofer version is displayed.
Releasing method:
Press the [
?/1
] button to turn the power off.
2-18.  WS Reset Mode
The wireless transceiver (EZW-RT50) can be reset by cold reset.
Preparation:
•  Refer to the “COMPLETING SETTINGS FOR THE WIRE-
LESS SOUND SYSTEM” section on page 3 to activate wire-
less transmission for the receiver (STR-CT550WT: main unit) 
and subwoofer (SA-WCT550W).
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2.  Press the [VOLUME +]/[VOLUME –] buttons to select the 
“WS RESET”, and press the [INPUT SELECTOR] button.
3.  The LINK/STANDBY indicator on the subwoofer (SA-
WCT550W) turns red and fl ashes for 1.5 seconds and then 
changes to amber. 
4.  Check that the LINK/STANDBY indicator on the subwoofer 
(SA-WCT550W) has changed to amber, and then pull out the 
power cord. 
Note: When restarting the system, check that the color of the LINK/
STANDBY indicator on the subwoofer (SA-WCT550W) turns 
completely off before plugging the power cord back in.
2-19. Cold 
Reset
Note: Execute this mode before returning the customer this set.
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2.  Press the [VOLUME +]/[VOLUME –] buttons to select the 
“COLD RESET”, and press the [INPUT SELECTOR] button.
3.  The message “COLD RESET.” appears on the fl uorescent in-
dicator tube, then turn the power off.

FM  TUNE  LEVEL  CHECK

Procedure:
1.  Turn on the set.
2.  Input the following signal from signal generator to FM antenna 
input directly.
Carrier frequency : A = 87.5 MHz, B = 98 MHz, C = 108 MHz
Deviation 
: 75 kHz
Modulation 
: 1 kHz
ANT input 
: 35 dBu (EMF)
Note: Use 75 ohm coaxial cable to connect signal generator and the set. 
You cannot use video cable for checking.
 
  Use signal generator whose output impedance is 75 ohm. 
3.  Set to FM tuner function and tune A, B and C signals.
4. Confi rm “TUNED” is lit on the display for A, B and C signals.
When the selected station signal is received in good condition, 
“TUNED” is displayed.
