SECTION  3
TEST  MODE
1.  TEST  MODES  OTHER  THAN  THE  TEST  MENU
These are executable test mode even if not entering the test menu.
Note: Do not use the remote commander. Execute the operation with the 
key of main unit.
1-1. Cold Reset
The AMP Menu, Sound Field, and other settings can be reset back 
to factory presets.
Procedure:
1.  Press the [
?/1
] button to turn the power on.
2.  Press the three buttons [INPUT SELECTOR], [VOLUME –] 
and [
?/1
] simultaneously.
3.  The message “COLD RESET” appears on the fl uorescent indi-
cator tube, then turn the power off.
2.  TEST  MODES  IN  THE  TEST  MENU
These are the test modes done in the test menu.
Setting method of the test menu:
1.  Press the [
?/1
] button to turn the power on.
2.  Press the [VOLUME +] and [INPUT SELECTOR] buttons at 
the same time and hold down for about 5 seconds.
3.  The message “PANEL TEST” appears on the fl uorescent indi-
cator tube and enter the test menu.
Releasing method of the test menu:
Press the [
?/1
] button to turn the power off.
2-1.  Panel test Mode
Checks of the lighting status of the fl uorescent indicator tubes, 
display of destination information, display of version information 
for each microcomputer, and key checks can be conducted in this 
mode.
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2.  Press the [VOLUME +]/[VOLUME –] buttons to select the 
“PANEL TEST”, and press the [INPUT SELECTOR] button.
3.  All segments in the fl uorescent indicator tube are lighted up.
 
When you press the [VOLUME +] button, the display on the 
fl uorescent indicator tube repeatedly switches in order from all 
lit → indicator pattern 1 → indicator pattern 2.
4.  When all segments in the fl uorescent indicator tube are lighted 
up in the state of step 3, press the [INPUT SELECTOR] button 
and model information is displayed on the fl uorescent indica-
tor tube.
 
Each time the [VOLUME +] button is pressed, the display 
changes from destination information, MC version, SYS ver-
sion, UI version, ST version, TA version, DSP version, CEC 
version, SAIR version, PF version in this order, and returns to 
the model information display.
5.  When [INPUT SELECTOR] button is pressed while the each 
version is displayed, year, month and day of the software cre-
ation is displayed.
 
When [INPUT SELECTOR] button is pressed again, the dis-
play returns to the each version display.
6.  In the state of step 3, press the [VOLUME –] button and “K 0” 
is displayed on the fl uorescent indicator tube.
 
“K 0” value increases whenever a button on the set is pressed. 
However, once a button has been pressed, it is no longer taken 
into account.
 
All buttons on the set is pressed, “OK” and “K 4” are alter-
nately displayed on the fl uorescent indicator tube.
Releasing method:
Press the [
?/1
] button to turn the power off.
2-2.  Model Name Display
The model name can be displayed.
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2.  Press the [VOLUME +]/[VOLUME –] buttons to select the 
“HT-CT550W”.
2-3.  MC Version Display
The MC microcomputer version information can be displayed.
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2.  Press the [VOLUME +]/[VOLUME –] buttons to select the 
“MC X.XXX” (X.XXX: MC microcomputer version).
2-4.  HDMI Version Display
The HDMI microcomputer version information can be displayed.
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2.  Press the [VOLUME +]/[VOLUME –] buttons to select the 
“HDMI X.XX” (X.XX: HDMI microcomputer version).
2-5.  Serial Flash Version Display
The serial fl ash microcomputer version information can be dis-
played.
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2.  Press the [VOLUME +]/[VOLUME –] buttons to select the 
“SFLASH X.XXX” (X.XXX: Serial fl ash version).
2-6.  AMP Test Mode
Not used for the servicing.
Press the [
?/1
] button if having entered this mode.
2-7.  Tuner Factory Preset Change
Not used for the servicing.
Press the [
?/1
] button if having entered this mode.
2-8.  Tone Test Check
Preparation:
Connect the subwoofer (SA-WCT550W) and the speaker (SS-
CT550W) together. 
Note:  Refer to page 3 for details on how to complete wireless sound sys-
tem settings for the subwoofer.
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2.  Press the [VOLUME +]/[VOLUME –] buttons to select the 
“TONE TEST”, and press the [INPUT SELECTOR] button.
3.  The output speaker is displayed on the fl uorescent indicator 
tube. At this time, the test tone output check from each speaker 
or subwoofer is possible.
Releasing method:
Press the [
?/1
] button to turn the power off.
2-9.  VACS Level Display On/off Change
Not used for the servicing.
Press the [
?/1
] button if having entered this mode.
2-10.  VACS On/off Change
Not used for the servicing.
Press the [

2-11.  DSP Halt Mode
