CLEAR: Default Set     page.2/2
This screen displays current servo adjusted data stored in the
EEPROM. Though adjusted data can be initialized with the
CLEAR “R”  key on the remote commander, they cannot be restored
after initialization is executed. So, before clearing, make a note of
the adjusted data before you start initialization. For reference, the
drive has been designed so that the gain center value is 20 and offset
value is 80. Other values will be in a range of 10 to 80. If extreme
value such as 00 or FF is set, adjustment will be faulty. In such a
case, check for disc scratch or broken cable, poor connection of
flexible board, then perform adjustment again.
Mechanism Aging

Press the  3  key on the remote commander to enter the mechanism
aging mode. The number of repetition cycles is displayed during
mechanism aging mode. Press the  DVD x  “R”  key to exit the
mechanism aging mode at any time. When you press the
DVD x “R”  , or  RETURN “R”  key to again after the mechanism
is stopped, the machine returns to the test mode menu. Note that the
SEARCH Aging item is possible with CD only.

or more, (input impedance of 10 Mohms or higher)
(1) Video level adjustment (DVD board)
<Purpose>
To align the video output signal level with the NTSC standard. If
not adjusted correctly, luminance of the video output signal may be
too bright or too dark.
Connection
Adjustment procedure:

Adjust the video output signal level to 1.0
±
 0.05 Vp-p.
(2) S-terminal video level check
<Purpose>
To check the S-terminal video output signal for the correct level. If
the S-terminal video output is not correct, picture will not appear
even when the monitor TV is connected to the S-terminal cable.
Connection
Adjustment procedure:
1)
Connect an oscilloscope to the  S-VIDEO OUT  terminal.
2)
Confirm that the S-Y level is 1.0
±
 0.1 Vp-p.
3)
Connect an oscilloscope to the S-VIDEO OUT (S-C) terminal.
