Menu  Functions

The  following  nine  items  can  be  displayed  by
pressing the MENU button.

PICTURE ADJUST:

REPEAT PLAY:

(Understanding these basic menu operations will help
you set the menu functions on the following pages.)

! Press the 

MENU

 button to call the MENU

screen.

@ Press the j / k buttons to select the desired

function mode.
Each time you press the j / k buttons, the “ｩ”
mark moves up or down.

# Press the 

SET

 button to select the desired

function mode.

• To leave the MENU screen, press the 

MENU

button.

• There are some items that cannot be selected from the

MENU screen during Blue screen, Timer standby, AV input,
recording and playback modes. These items are displayed
in red.

By operating the channel presetting controls, you
may preset your TELEVIDEO to the desired chan-
nels  for  viewing.  First  follow  the  instructions  for
auto channel presetting and then add or erase in-
dividual channels as desired.

 Full Auto Channel Preset

The channels can be preset by using the
PRESET button on the unit or by using the
MENU screen.

To automatically tune in and preset all the channels
your TELEVIDEO can receive in your area, follow the
steps below.

A. Using the PRESET button:

Press the 

PRESET

 button on the TELEVIDEO for at

least two seconds. The screen below appears and
channel auto tuning begins.

When channel presetting is complete, the “MOVE”
screen appears.

• To cancel full auto tuning, press the 

PRESET

 button again.

B. Using the MENU screen:

! Select “CH.

PRESET” from
the MENU
screen by
pressing the j /
k buttons, then
press the 

SET

button.

(“CH. PRESET” cannot be selected during
playback, recording, AV input, or Timer standby
modes.)

Presetting the Channels

@ Press the j / k buttons to select “FULL AUTO

TUNING”, and press the 

SET

 button.

The screen will change as shown below and all
the channels in your area that the TELEVIDEO
can receive will be automatically preset (be-
tween the channel position 1 and 99, 0).

 Semi Auto Channel Preset

To set broadcast stations to individual channels, fol-
low the steps below.

! Select “CH. PRESET” from the MENU screen by

pressing the j / k buttons, then press the 

SET

button.

@ Press the j / k buttons to select “SEMI AUTO

TUNING”, and press the 

SET

 button.

# Select the channel number that you wish to

preset by pressing the 

CHANNEL SELECT

buttons or the 

CHANNEL UP/DOWN

)  buttons on the TELEVIDEO.

$ When you press the j / k buttons, the “ ” marks

increase (decrease) to show that the search is
being carried out. When a broadcasting station
signal is received, the “ ” marks stop increasing
(decreasing).

% If you wish to preset other channels, repeat

steps # and $ above.

^ Press the 

MENU

 button to exit SEMI AUTO

TUNING screen.
The screen will return to “CH. PRESET” screen.

Presetting the Channels

& Press the 

MENU

 button to return to normal

screen.

Adding weak or additional
channels

When the picture quality is not at its best due to a
poor signal, try fine tuning the channel to improve the
picture.

! Select the channel to be tuned.

@ Select “CH. PRESET” from the MENU screen by

pressing the j / k buttons, and press the 

SET

button.

# Press the j / k buttons to select “FINE TUN-

ING”, and press the 

SET

 button.

$ Press the j / k buttons to tune the channel.

Adjust the tuning until you have the best
possible picture.

% Press the

FINE  TUNING
screen. The CH.
PRESET  screen
will appear.

^ Press the 

MENU

button again, CH. PRESET screen will return to
normal screen.
The channel number display changes from
green to yellow.

 Erasing unwanted channels

! Press the 

MENU

 button to call the MENU

screen.

@ Press the j / k buttons to select “CH. PRESET”,

and press the 

SET

 button.

Presetting the Channels

% Confirm that the “ｩ” mark is positioned at “ON”.

(When you set the SKIP function to ON, the “•”
mark appears on the left side of the channel
display). Repeat this procedure for all the
channels you wish to erase.

^ When finished,

press the 

MENU

button.

& Press the 

MENU

 button to exit CH. PRESET

screen. The screen will return to normal screen.

• To cancel the SKIP function, first select the desired

channel by pressing the 

CHANNEL SELECT 

buttons

(0–9,Q-/--) and select “OFF” in step %.
