MX-FN10 How to check and correct phase deviation of the gripper 
 
Confirmation of phase deviation 
 

1. Remove the front lower cover. (1 screw) 
 

2. Remove the front cover (with the inner cover). (5 screws)

3. Open the staple replacement cover of the saddle stapler. 
 

4. Turn the shaft clockwise with a flat screwdriver using the slit at the end of the square shaft of the upper gripper 

unit to open the gripper. 

 

5. Pull out the gripper unit.

6. Confirmation of phase deviation of the gripper unit 
 

 

As shown in the picture above, pull out the gripper unit until it touches the end of the bracket. 
If phase deviation occurs, it is impossible to pull out to the position above, and it stops in the middle as in the 
picture below.

7. Confirmation of phase deviation of the saddle stapler 

Confirm if there is any phase deviation with the saddle stapler unit. 
 

If the end of the saddle stapler touches the metal plate when the gripper unit is fully pulled out, it is normal. 
There may be a small gap about 1mm because of looseness of the gear etc., but if it easily comes to the right 
position by moving with your finger, there is no problem.
