Page Order: The user may specify the order in which the pages of
the document will be printed.

i. 

Forward – The first page of the document will be
printed first followed by the sequent pages.

ii. 

Reverse – The last page of the document will be
printed first followed by the remaining pages of
the document.

Duplex: The user may specify whether both sides of the page
are to be printed.

i. 

Off – 2 sided printing (duplex) will not be used.

ii. 

Top-Top – For regular book printing.

iii. 

Top-bottom – For tablet style printing.

Sorter Mode: The user may specify the manner in which the pages of the
document will be outputted.

i. 

Off – Set effect as group mode.

ii. 

Collate – When printing multiple sets of a document that contains
multiple pages, the Fiery will print all the pages of the document to
one of the Sorter’s trays. The Fiery will repeat the process for the
specified amount of copies and output each “document set” to the
same bin.

iii. 

Sorted – When printing multiple sets of a document that contains
multiple pages, the Fiery will print all the pages of the document to
one of the finisher’s trays. The Fiery will repeat the process for the
specified amount of copies and output each “document set” to a
different bin.

iv. 

Grouped – When printing multiple sets of a document that
contains multiple pages, the Fiery will print the same page for the
specified amount of copies and then print the sequent page(s) in
the same manner. Each “set of pages” will be outputted to a
different bin.

Stapler Mode: Allows the user to specify whether or not
the document sets will be stapled.

i. 

Off – The document page(s) will not be
stapled.

ii. 

On – The document page(s) will be
stapled.

Watermark: Choose from the list of pre-configured Watermarks.

the watermark to be positioned
anywhere on the page.

Preview Pane: Allows to user to visually
preview the watermark settings.

Print Watermarks: Allows the user to control the
appearance of the watermark.

First Page Only – Watermark will
only be printed on the first page of
the document.

ii. 

Print in Background – The document
will overprint on top of the
watermark.

iii. 

As Outline – The watermark font will
be printed as a traced outline not a
filled in solid font.

Combine Separations: Used for Film Separation Proofing. Combines
each colour’s layer onto a single page when proofing for Overprint,
Trapping and other printing abnormalities.

Note: To use this option the file must have been printed as a colour
separation or created in the Desktop Colour Separation (DCS) format.
If the file is not printed as a colour separation or in the DCS format this
option will have no effect. Colour separations or DCS files divide the
image into four separate images (one for each colour). Each colour’s
layer can then be printed separately onto film sheets (as grayscale
images) for use when printing with film sheet.

ON – Each colour’s layer will be combined onto a
single sheet for proofing before going to press.

iii. 

OFF – Each colour’s layer will be printed separately as
grayscale images intended for photographic film
creation.

Expert Colour: Applies the Colour Wise II advance colour management control
to the document(s) being printed. Allows to user to configure the Fiery for
specific printing requirements.

Typically used by Colour Reproduction professionals who require special colour
management control over their documents.

Standard Colour: Used when no special colour management
control is required to print the document. Typically most users that
print in colour will use this setting.

Grayscale: Used to print grayscale or black and white
documents. Only Black toner will be used to create the
document. Documents that have colour will be converted to
scales of gray.

Rendering Style: Used to select the desired colour-rendering
dictionary (CRD). CRD’s are used by the Fiery to map RGB colours
to CMYK “equivalent colours”.

i. 

Printer’s default: See the Fiery’s configuration
sheet.

ii. 

Photographic – Prints smooth and accurate colours.
Typically results in less saturated output then the
presentation CRD when printing out-of-gamut
colours. It preserves tonal relationships in images.

iii. 

Presentation – Creates saturated colours but does
not match printed colours precisely to displayed
colours.

iv. 

Relative Colourmetric – Provides white-point
transformation between the source and destination
white points. Useful when you want whites in the
image to print using the “paper’s colour”.

v. 

Absolute Colourmetric – Provides no white point
transformation between the source and destination
white points. Useful when exact colours are
required.

RGB Separation: Used to control the colour Workflow path.

i.

ii. 

Output – Directs document to Output Profile.

iii. 

Simulation – Directs document to CMYK Simulation Profile.

Output Profile: Used to select the calibration curve that will be applied to the
document.

Pure Black Text and Graphics: Used to control how black text and
graphics will be reproduced.

Options Available:

i. 

Printer’s default: See the Fiery’s configuration sheet.

ii. 

(OFF) -- Prints black text and graphics as “four colour
black” (uses the CMYK toners to print black object).

iii. 

(ON) – Prints black text and graphics using 100%
black toner only.

Spot Colour: Used to determine whether Pantone colours will be reproduced
using the selected CMYK Simulation Profile or by using the Fiery’s built-in “look-
up” table for Pantone to CMYK conversion.

i. 

Printer’s default: See the Fiery’s configuration sheet.

ii. 

(OFF) – The application will provide the conversion from
Pantone to CMYK. The converted Pantone colour(s) will then be
applied to the selected CMYK Simulation Profile.

iii. 

(ON) – Patone colours will be reproduced using the Fiery’s built-
in “look-up” table. Produces consistent outputs when printing the
same document from different applications.

CMYK Simulation Profile: Used to select a particular type of
simulation. Simulations allow the Fiery to duplicate the output
of a particular device when proofing.

i.

sheet.

ii. 

SWOP Coated – The US press standard.

iii. 

DIC – The Japanese press standard.

iv. 

Euroscale – The European press standard.

v. 

Simulation 1 ~ 10*

vi. 

None – Used when the application has already
performed the simulation.

vii. 

Match Copy – Does not apply any simulation
or calibration. Used to simulate the results of
“off the glass” copying.

* Custom simulations may be produced and assigned using
Fiery Pro Tools.

CMKY Simulation Method: Used to control the accuracy of the CMYK
Simulation Profile being performed.

Options Available:

i. 

Printer’s default: See the Fiery’s configuration sheet.

ii. 

Full – Adjusts the outputs hue and density to provide a more
accurate and complete simulation.

iii. 

Quick – Adjusts output density only.

RGB Source Profile: Used to define the Colour Space of the monitor being used. Specifying the monitor’s
colour space (RGB data) helps the Fiery more accurately produce the colours being displayed on the monitor.

i. 

Printer’s default: See the Fiery’s configuration sheet.

ii. 

EFIRGB – EFI defined colour space. Used when the RGB data source is unknown.

iii. 

SRGB – Standard PC monitor colour space.

iv. 

Apple Standard – Standard MAC monitor colour space.

v. 

Other – User will be prompted to enter the values for Gamma, Phosphor, and White point.

vi. 

Source 1 ~ 10*

vii. 

None – Used when other Colour Management Systems exist on the Operating System. The
RGB source data will not be manipulated by the Fiery.

Black Overprint: Used to control the manner in which black text will be
applied to the page.

i. 

Printer’s default: See the Fiery’s configuration sheet.

ii. 

(OFF) – Prints black text with knocks-outs. Produces
“flat coloured blacks” but edges of text show white
halos.

iii. 

(ON) – Overprints the black text on top of the colour
background. Produces a glossier looking black with no
white halo around the text.
