Temperature error observation
The thermistor in the monitor observes the temperature. When the temperature becomes high, the error is displayed by the LED and the
OSD message.
- How to display the high temperature error
1. Temperature error OSD is displayed on the monitor.
2. The LED lights up in order of RED -> GREEN -> RED -
OSD message.
- How to display the high temperature error
1. Temperature error OSD is displayed on the monitor.
2. The LED lights up in order of RED -> GREEN -> RED -
> GREEN …..
From the Setup > Others > TEMPERATURE ALERT, it is possible to select the notification method for an abnormal temperature.
- Protection operation
1. Decrease the brightness
When the high temperature error is detected, decrease the brightness (brightness becomes 0 in the Brightness menu) and reduce the
increase of the temperature.
2. Power OFF
When the high temperature error is detected again with decreasing the brightness, the main power is turned OFF.
- Record to the Log
When the temperature error is detected, the following items are recorded to the log.
1. Accumulated operation time (Hour)
2. Temperature when the temperature error is occurred (Degrees C)
The thermistor AD on the Main I/F PWB is observed per one minute. When the detected temperature is over the threshold value
continuosly three times, the state of the thermistor AD is judged whether it is in the correct state or not.
This operation is done with the monitor being in the operating state (the backlight lights) and is not done with the backlight being OFF.
- How to operate under the high temperature error
The monitor is operated in the following sequence under the high temperature error.

- How to operate under the high temperature error
The monitor is operated in the following sequence under the high temperature error.
Temperature error observation
- To recover from the error state
When the temperature is decreased in more than five degrees C while the brightness is decreased, the error display is stopped and the
brightness is set to the user setting. Then, the monitor is recovered from the error state.
Temperature error control
- How to decrease the brightness
When the temperature becomes 40 degrees C, the brightness of the backlight is decreased. (Brightness becomes 0 in the Brightness
menu)
The adjustment for the brightness in the Setup menu is not allowed while the brightness is decreased. When the brightness in the Setup
menu is done while the brightness is decreased, [BRIGHTNESS AUTO DIMMING] is displayed.
-How to control Power OFF
When the temperature becomes 43 degrees C for 20 inch model or 45 degrees C for 24 inch model, the temperature error state is once
deactivated and the power is turned OFF. Then, the LED lights up.
When the power is turned ON, the monitor is recovered and the temperature observation is started.
